  17. SUBJECT: Volume Control Replacement

  19. When replacing the volume control in a TR-2400, certain precautions should
  20. be observed to insure against inducing new problems to either the control
  21. or the radio.
  22.  
  23. When installing a replacement volume control R05-2409-05, soolder the leads
  24. to the potentiometer sparingly, to prevent flux or solder from running down
  25. the tabs and into the joint between the tab and the deposited resistance
  26. material.  If this precaution is not observed, future failure of the new
  27. control is possible.

  29. Secondly, when reassembling the radio, tape insulate the PCB ground pathe
  30. directly adjacent to the power switch tabs on the volume control.  This
  31. will prevent accidental shorting of the battery to ground, and loss of the
  32. B+ RF choke, L101.
