BULLETIN # 808
MODEL: TR-2400
SUBJECT: OFFSET FAILURE
For intermittent or no offset, suspect an intermittent short between
the metal body of the REV NOR SW and an adjacent jumper on the PCB, or
intermittent contact between the volume control metal body and the PLL PCB.
1. Disassemble the radio and inspect the board to the right of the REV/NOR
SW. Using a small flat blade screwdriver or similar tool, gently pry the
short metal jumper and the metal body switch tab apart. This should clear
the offset trouble.
2. Run a strip of cloth tape (not vinyl tape) approximately 1/4 inch wide,
across the top edge of the Display unit directly under the volume control.
This will prevent the control housing from intermittently touching the PCB
and causing loss of offset functions. In similar manner, add insulation at
the bottom left corner and upper right corner of the PCB.
3. When reassembling, make certain the PLL unit does not inadvertently
ground the Power switch tab.
