  17. SUBJECT: ADAPTING THE TR-2200A ANTENNA TO OTHER RADIOS
  18.  
  19.                                                         
  20.       We have had several inquiries about adapting the TR-2200A whip
  21.       antenna to the Drake TR-22C and Trio TR-2200. We now have a
  22.       kit of parts to do this. Following is a copy of the instruction
  23.       sheet supplied with each kit.

  40.          1 - Remove original antenna
  41.  
  42.          2 - Enlarge antenna hole to 9.5 mm

  44.          3 - Install parts 1 thru 8 as shown in the graphic
  45.  
  46.          4 - Remove coaxial cable that runs from the original whip
  47.              antenna to the S0-239.
  48.     
  49.          5 - Connect original coaxial cable from terminals ANT and E
  50.              to the external antenna connector (S0-239). (This cable
  51.              originally went from terminals ANT and E to the whip
  52.              antenna.)
  53.     
  54.          6 - Locate the 2 "L" brackets mounting the TX unit to the
  55.              side and install 2 ground lugs between the bracket and
  56.              the side ot the unit.
  57.     
  58.          7 - Install the coaxial cable so that the end with the
  59.              capacitor is at the S0-239.
  60.     
  61.          8 - Solder the free end of the capacitor to the center pin
  62.              of the S0-239 and solder the coax braid to the ground
  63.              terminal.
  64.     
  65.          9 - Mount the last ground lug wlth jXb mm screw at the hole
  66.              next to the whip antenna.
  67.         10 - Solder the braid of the supplied coax to the ground lug
  68.              installed in Step 9 and the center conductor of the coax
  69.              to the antenna lug 2.

  71.         11 - Carefully solder the coax braid to the 2 lugs installed
  72.              in Step 6. See graphic
