Thanks for reading this bulletin...
We have discovered a couple of instances where stations have inadvertently
jammed the network due to a wiring problem which resulted in the user's
locking up on transmit when the TNC was turned off.
One such instance was a station whereupon a Kantronics KAM TNC locked up a
Yaesu radio on transmit when the KAM was switched off and the Yaesu was left
on. That problem was cleared by cutting the green "XCD" lead from the
TNC to radio interface cable.
You might check your own system, regardless of components used, to make sure
that it stays "off the air" when the TNC is shut down.
