WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT US?
THE READERS VOICE
----------------------------------------------------- ---- -- --- --- --- ----
voice from: Ear_X / FUN industries (.nl)
I told ya it ruled :) Not as many articles as maggie/ucm, but no_bullshit,
great shell and informative stuff! Well.. maybe only the font, it's a bit
small. For the rest I think I don't have any criticism!. Well the interviews
are of good quality of all mags including Chosneck (did i get the name right,
don't kick me ;))
The content is pretty teenage like, but that's the whole point of the scene,
it's just a bunch of crazy wacky kids =)) They were pretty good I liked the
way Sqward and you were talking, Sqward has a coding grandma? :)
(...) so you're continuing the mag?!? gr8!!! =) it'll rule.

editor: hum! thanx for laures, Pieter. it's cool to read such words esp. when
you start with a new project like this one! it wasn't the easy choice
to start with new magazine. since this issue I have to try to keep
it alive as long as possible even without any support of readers.
I hope I will manage it! and yup, we know about this font thingy
you mentioned! the fonts we used previously were simply unreadable
on RGB mode, i experienced that on my own skin.. I hope you like the
1st REAL issue of "Chosneck". happy readin'!

(...) I just forgot to tell you that Joe has shown me "Edge.." on his falcon
some days ago, and I must say.. really cool stuff to spent some hours with!
Of course i didnt manage to check out all the articles yet, I will do that if
I have got those 12 mb :) However, it seems to be a really fat production with
a scenish apperance, in my eyes. And personally, I of course would like to see
a follower of it. Maybe with a little bit bigger font or so. But the style of
writing was nicely positive and not the usual "i am suffering so much" - stuff
we can read here and there.
So.. keep it going (whatever it might be:)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
editor: Vielen dank Nils! In fact the 1st issue of Chosneck wasn't the real
one. It had number "zero" which was meant as a preview of the thing
we are preparing. If you read these words then you'll see the result!
I am still trying to keep the contents being positive. Simply,
I don't see any need for never ending complaints - it won't help
anyone! I am not scared to to call anything BAD or simply DULL and if
something like this shows up - we will surely write about this
somewhere in the mag! meantime thanx for your nice words about our
new babe! hope to see any contributions from you in the future!

I've downloaded your new diskmagazine on DHS site. That's a good idea because
ST Survivor told me last week he didn't want to work for Alive! anymore. So,
there is at least one diskmag for Atari now :-)
Just one thing: 7 MB it's really big, do you plan to include such big sound-
tracks for the next times ??
Keep up the good work, for the next issue.
See ya !
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
editor: eheh, man! what a huge music-selector we had in the "0" issue! surely
beat everyone released so far :)) 9 modules with photos to choose....
BEAT DIS! 8-)) ha, in fact this magazine was the little sticker to
the huge (in size) msx-colly! :)) but nice that you like the mag and
i hope it didn't change after THIS issue! STay QL!

voice from: CiH / Maggie Team (.uk)
Okay some small (constructive) criticisms of the diskmag part :)
The fact that is small in relation to, say, Maggie, and the limited spread of
topics, you covered yourself. I'm sure the first proper issue will have more
reviews and general material. The interviews reminded me a lot of the early
days of Maggie, the Sammy Joe era, with a lot of the comments made in them ;-)
I am not sure if you are doing this from a purely Polish scene perspective, as
I have a feeling that the available material will run dry quickly? So I assume
you are going for a broader based approach, covering German, Swedish, French
scenes etc?
The shell next....
Just out of interest, out of the 7 mbytes, how much of it was music compil,
and how much was diskmag ? I would guess that the file sizes will come down
drastically if you are doing more issues in future!?
I've no problem with a hi-res text displayer, but a *slightly* bigger font
would be nice :)))
And I thought the shell was very professional looking, perhaps a little bit
sparse, but that is down to personal preferences. I would say the diskmag has
a lot of potential, and I wish you all the best.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
editor: Yeah, you are right Chris! But please keep in mind it was only the
STICKER to the "Abyss", not the real issue which would compete with
all the others! As I wrote in the editor's note, we knew about all
the shortfalls and we promised to make it up! I am a bit reluctant
to review any scene-products simply 'coz I wouldn't like to be blamed
after that. I am not a coder, grapician or musician so reviews of all
intros/demos should be made by other MSB members for example! But
thanx for your nice words and I count on your co-operation in any
form in the future!

The idea with the diskmag is great. I hope there will be more. The only thing
I didn't like too much was the long depacking time - especially when you are
reading an article and want to change the music. Maybe the handling can be
improved... The design is great!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
editor: Argh, it seems that these fonts really sucked ;) But as You can see
Norman we used bigger ones this time. And yup, this depacking was a
bit annoying and it's been solved this time I hope? Also the music
selector is easier to handle now! We perform Your wishes :) Thanx for
the nice words about design and I hope You like the current issue as
well!
