  22. The original archive MAPUS???.LHA (??? is the version number) can't be
  23. modified. You can't add or remove files except BBS ads.

  44. INTRODUCING MAPUS:
  45.  
  46. What is Mapus? Mapus is the ultimate solution for DMS files.
  47. With it you can do all you want on these files. You can check them,
  48. make, remove and add tail, track, front banners; all in a good and
  49. functional mode.
  50.  
  51. WHY USE MAPUS AND NOT ANOTHER CHECKER?
  52.  
  53. Simple. Some doesn't work perfectly on all files, others doesn't
  54. give you all informations about the file, and no-one let you
  55. add your text files.
  56. Mapus can be used with a BBS or into your script files or simply
  57. to test your DMS files. Mapus is 100% tested for this functions.
  58.  
  59. HOW IT WORKS:
  60.  
  61. If you invoke Mapus with only its name, you'll get the syntax:
  62.  
  63. MaPuS [-<options>] FileName[.DMS] [DestFile]
  64.  
  65. Options is one of the followings:
  66.  
  67. a - Let you add front banner. But first make one with "m" option.
  68.     For this option you must pass source "FileName" (with or without
  69.     extension .DMS) and a destination "DestFile"name. (NOTE: If you
  70.     want to place destination files in RAM: see "s" option)
  71.  
  72. t - Let you add track banner. See "a" options for more informations.
  73.     To make a track banner see option "n".
  74.  
  75. r - Let you remove front banner. Pass source FileName and DestFile name
  76.     and Mapus will search and remove front banners and report you
  77.     results of operation.
  78.  
  79. k - Kill track banner. Same notes for "r".
  80.  
  81. m - Make front banner. If you want type the text file name or requester will
  82.     appear and let you select a filename for the add banner.
  83.     Mapus will place in S: a file called "Mapus.cfg". Now you can
  84.     add it with "a" option.
  85.  
  86. n - Make track banner. To add it use "t" option.
  87.     (NOTE: The format of the text file is: 64 colons (with return), 16 lines)
  88.  
  89. s - Don't check for disk space. Usefull if you work in the Ram Disk
  90.     (that is always full). Working on it you must specify this
  91.     option.
  92.  
  93. A - Add tail banner. To make it see "M" option.
  94.     (This is the fastest add)
  95.  
  96. R - Remove tail banners.
  97.  
  98. M - Make tail banner. Same choses for "m" and "n" options.
  99.  
  100. v - View only informations about DMS file, and don't check it.
  101.  
  102. g - Show some greetings.
  103.  
  104. u - Use arp requester to select the DMS file.
  105.  
  106. FileName can be without extension but type it yourself for
  107. destination filename.
  108.  
  109. If you invoke Mapus with only source file name, it will be tested and
  110. many informations about it are printed to the screen.
  111.  
  112. Please update your Mapus.cfg at every revision of Mapus.

  114. EXAMPLES:
  115.  
  116. 1) Check a file:
  117.  In this example I will suppose that you've a file in your DL: directory
  118. called TEST.DMS and you want to test it.
  119.  
  120. Type: MaPuS DL:TEST or MaPuS dl:TEST.dms
  121.  
  122. it will be tested and you'll get some infos about the file.
  123.  
  124. 2) Make a tail banner:
  125.  
  126. Type: MaPuS -M
  127.  
  128. 3) Add a front banner and remove tail and track banners:

  130. Type: MaPuS -AskR dl:TEST.dms ram:newTEST.dms

  134. 4) If you want to use MaPuS with AmiExpress use the script included:
  135.    DMS that you must place in FCheck directory.

  146. GLOSSARY:
  147.  
  148. Tail Banner: it's a text file that will be appended to the end of file.
  149.              (it's the last text that will be displayed)
  150.  
  151. Front Banner: it's a text file that will be appended to the front of file.
  152.               (it's the first text that will be displayed)
  153.  
  154. Track Banner: it's the zero-track that will displayed as text file.

  161. 0.84 First public version. For my decision public versions doesn't implement
  162.      "-t" and "-k" commands.

  167.      Fixed some bugs, before "-k" command corrupted archives if there were
  168.      track and front banner.

  190. Wildcards  support,  date  of the add of the banner and some other features
  191. for  BBSes, banner display, scripts for failed or succeed tests (useful for
  192. BBSes).
