RIPGRAF 0.5B (public beta)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Copyright ©1993 Michael Nelson
All rights reserved.
Please try RIPGRAF out and let me know what you think of it...
Installing RIPGRAF:
Please install the included font (called RIPstandard.font) to your FONTS
directory. It is not really necessary, the program will use the topaz font
is it can't find the RIPstandard font, but you won't see what the text
will look like in RIP.
Click on the RIPGRAF icon or type RIPGRAF in a CLI.
(It will only run on WB2.04 or greater)
Using RIPGRAF:
The left and right mouse buttons generally function identically
while drawing, with a couple of exceptions: While in the line-draw mode
clicking the left mouse button will finish a line after one has been started
and clicking on the right mouse button will finish off the line and start a
new line at that exact same point. The polygon drawing mode, uses the left
mouse button to start a polygon and for drawing the connected points, and
the right mouse button closes the polygon by connecting the point under the
cursor to the very first polygon coordinate.
The color can be changed by clicking on the two boxes next to "Draw color"
and "Fill color" the box you click on will change to look indented... now
you can click on one of the sixteen colors to the right and that color will
be used in the indented color box.
The box below "pattern" is a gadget, click on this and you will cycle
through all the RIP predefined patterns, which are used for all fill
functions.
Gadgets that are half filled, half unfilled, will select either a unfilled
mode or filled mode depending on which half you clicked on (just like
dpaint does)
The text gadget will open up a text requester once you click your mouse in
the drawing area. Type you text into the the string gadget and hit return.
The font selector cycles through all the RIP fonts, although this release
will only use the "standard" font regardless of what you have selected. The
font size slider selects how big the font will be, set to 1 gives you an 8
pixels high font an set to 10 gives you a font 80 pixels high
*** IMPORTANT ***
The flood fill (the gadget is on the right of the big T) will flood fill the
current fill pattern and fill color on to the drawing area upto the drawing
color. If you not careful you can easily flood fill the entire screen if the
drawing color is not on it anywhere.
I'll write better doc's... I promise :-)
If you'd like to register RIPGRAF send a registration fee of
$20 US ($20 CAN for Canadian residents) to:
Please send me your name and mailing address (so I can mail the
next version to you)... plus please tell me which feature you'd
like to supported.
Be sure to read the online doc for more info about the program.
Also, this was written on an Amiga 3000 running WB2.1, So I am
not sure how well it works running under WB3.0... let me know
if it needs to be better (I will use the display database in
a future release... sooner if needed)
