  7. Presenting "Quick Silver", the ARexx File Request Server!

  9. Greetings  from  The  Hotel  California,  located in Austin Texas.  You are
  10. being  served  by  Quick  Silver,  a  FidoNet  File Request Server, written
  11. entierly in ARexx, and compiled with the "Rexx Plus Compiler" by The Dineen
  12. Edwards Group on an Amiga 2500.  Here are a few features that are available
  13. to you from Quick Silver.

  15. o MAGIC filename support.
  16.  
  17. o PASSWORD protection on both file areas and Magic filenames.
  18.   Format: FILENAME !PASSWORD
  19.  
  20. o ACCOUNTING support keeps track of the number requests, the number of files
  21.   requested and the number of bytes sent to each requesting node.
  22.  
  23. o FIRST TIME LETTER for callers, what you are reading now.
  24.  
  25. o NODELIST SUPPORT via the traplist.library by Martin J Laubach.
  26.  
  27. o Update Request support.  Request files only if they are before or after a
  28.   certain date.
  29.   Format: FILENAME +/-Uyymmdd[hhmmss] or FILENAME +/-unix_timestamp
  30.  
  31. o WILDCARD pattern matching. Uses the standard * and ? characters.

  33. o More features being added.

  35. o Compiled ARexx for blazing fast speed even on a stock 68000 machine.

  37. Quick  Silver is currently in Beta Test stage, and may still have some bugs
  38. to  be  found.   If  you experience any problems when requesting files from
  39. this  BBS,  please  send  me a NetMail explaining the problem so that I may
  40. correct  it.   When  all features have been implemented, the source will be
  41. released in a ShareWare format.
