  16. DESCRIPTION: Second Guess is a variation of concentration solitaire that
  17. can be played with a variety of options, including competitive play
  18. against the computer or with up to four human players. To get started
  19. either read the .doc file or just start up the game and view the help
  20. screens to learn how to play.

  22. REQUIREMENTS: Second Guess runs in 640x480, 256 color graphics mode with
  23. VESA 1.2 compatible and many other SVGA cards. Standard 16 color VGA is
  24. also supported. SoundBlaster digitized sound effects or PC speaker sounds
  25. can be used. A mouse is optional but convenient.

  27. SHAREWARE: Second Guess is distributed as Shareware. You are free to try
  28. the game and make copies for others. If you continue to use the game,
  29. however, you must pay the author a registration fee of $16 (#12.95 in the
  30. U.K.; see UKORDER.TXT for details); in return you'll receive a copy of the
  31. latest version of the program. A "deluxe" version with binder and printed
  32. manual is available for $24. Please include $2 shipping/handling with your
  33. payment, or $4 for deluxe versions or shipping outside the U.S. Please
  34. note that all prices are in U.S. dollars.

  37. provided a copy of the catalog is supplied to the author; see the file

  72. AVAILABLE SOFTWARE: Other software which I've either written or

  75. DRGNBN:    Dragons Bane: Mah Jongg II is a great companion program to
  76.            Second Guess. It uses the same tile sets and can load the same
  77.            background pictures. Dragons Bane is a tile solitaire game
  78.            with a variety of options: different board layouts (including
  79.            an editor to make your own), statistics, tournaments and more.
  80.            Like Second Guess it supports VGA and SVGA graphics and Sound
  81.            Blaster digitized sounds.

  83. MAHJONGG:  Addictive solitaire game played with Chinese tiles. Very
  84.            easy to learn but always a challenge to win. Many game
  85.            options including timed games, tournaments, etc. Also
  86.            allows loading optional tile sets (tile editor included).
  87.            Supports EGA and Hercules graphics; mouse optional.

  95. TMATCH:    Tile Match is a variation on concentration solitaire or
  96.            "memory", but adds multiple player versions (up to four
  97.            players) or play against the computer. Many scoring and
  98.            difficulty settings allow use by any age player. Uses
  99.            the same tiles for playing pieces as Mah Jongg solitaire
  100.            and includes the tile editor.

  102. TILESETS:  Several collections of tile sets created by various
  103.            Mah Jongg fans are available. Each collection includes
  104.            at least ten tile sets. Requires Mah Jongg v3.3 or later
  105.            or any version of Tile Match.

  107. EGATREK:   Space strategy battle game, using full EGA graphics.
  108.            Based on the classic star trek type games, including
  109.            maps, graphics, communications and even a view outside
  110.            the ship. Winner of Public Brand Software's 1988
  111.            software contest.

  121. CIPHER:    A word puzzle game, yet it uses hi-res VGA or EGA graphics

  123.            Includes over 30 puzzles to solve; registered version comes
  124.            with over 200 additional puzzles. You can also enter your
  125.            own already encrypted puzzles. Also available in a version
  126.            for Windows 3.x.

  128. SHOOT:     "Shooting Gallery" is a colorful arcade game with several
  129.            different rounds to test your aim and reflexes, including
  130.            skeet, quick draw, carnival type shooting range and a wild 
  131.            west shootout. Uses 320x200, 256 color mode and a mouse to
  132.            play. Requires VGA or MCGA.

  160.            created or modified. EGA and CGA versions provided.

  163. These programs are probably available on your favorite BBS or from your
  164. favorite disk vendors. To register them or to order direct, use the form
  165. in the file "ORDERFRM.TXT" (U.K. residents use "UKORDER.TXT") which is all
  166. ready to print. The "deluxe" version includes the registered software on
  167. diskette, plus a binder and printed manual (some programs also include
  168. quick reference cards). The standard version includes just the diskette
  169. with the registered software. You can also use your VISA or MasterCard to
  170. order on-line thru the support BBS, Xevious, at 508-788-6951. Use "CREDIT"
