  14. Word Search Racer is a word puzzle game for windows based on the
  15. popular game of word search.  You may play without a time limit or
  16. if you like a bit more adventure, you may play against the clock.
  17. In addition to playing the game, you can also create new Racer
  18. files for others to play.  Word Search Racer allows YOU 
  19. to combine EDUCATION and entertainment!

  21. The unregistered version of Word Search Racer provides several Word
  22. Search Racer files for you to solve.
  23.  
  24. You have two options for registration.  You may either register 
  25. and receive 50 more Racer files to solve along with a 
  26. registration number which will allow you to create your own 
  27. Racer files or, if you choose, you may register the software 
  28. as is, and receive your registration number allowing you 
  29. to save your own creations!

  31. Word Search Racer Maker is the utility program that builds Racer files.
  32. You can build Racer files to trade with other Word Search
  33. Racer users, to introduce your kids to new vocabulary 
  34. or words that deal with a particular subject.

  36. Note: Only the registered version of Word Search Racer Maker
  37. will save the files you create.

  40. How to set up the unregistered version:

  43. The zip file contains 12 files:
  44.     WSRACER.EXE    - the executable file
  45.     WSRMAKER.EXE    - Word Search Racer Maker executable
  46.     WSRACER.HLP    - Word Search Racer Help File
  47.     COMMDLG.DLL    - Windows common dialog dll
  48.     MSAFINX.DLL    - Visual Basic dll required for timer
  49.     CMDIALOG.VBX    - Visual Basic common dialog VBX
  50.     example1.wsr      - Example Racer File
  51.     example2.wsr      - Example Racer File
  52.     example3.wsr      - Example Racer File
  53.     example4.wsr      - Example Racer File
  54.     example5.wsr      - Example Racer File

  57. If you do not currently have COMMDLG.DLL in your windows\system
  58. directory, place this copy there.  (You probably already have a copy
  59. there since many windows applications use this file.)
  60.  
  61. If you do not currently have CMDIALOG.VBX in your windows\system
  62. directory, place this copy there.  If you have other Visual Basic
  63. applications you may already have this file in place too.
  64.  
  65. You must also have a copy of VBRUN300.DLL in your windows/system 
  66. directory.  This file is not included in the zip file because 
  67. it is generally available on many BBS.  If you do not have 
  68. this file, download a copy and place it in your windows\system directory.

  70. Next, create a directory such as C:\WSRACER and place the .exe files,
  71. the .hlp file and the .wsr files there.  To execute the application, double
  72. click on the .exe file or select the file and choose Run 
  73. under the File menu item in File Manager.  You may make a 
  74. program group and program items in Program Manager if you wish.

  76. Please use the Help menu items for instructions on how to use the software.
  77. Registration information is also contained in the Help file.

  81. Word Search Racer and Word Search Racer Maker are distributed as
  82. shareware.   You are free to try the unregistered version and share
  83. it with friends.  There are no restrictions on distribution of the 
  84. unregistered version.  Registered versions are for the exclusive use of
  85. the registered owner.
