  1. WORDCHASE CHANGES

  4. The following are the fixes and enhancements that Wordchase
  5. has gone through from version 1.0 to the present.
  6.

  9.                 ENHANCEMENTS FROM 2.0 TO 2.0a
  10.  
  11. 1. DISPLAYING SCORES - In some instances you would
  12.          receive an "@" sign next to the computers
  13.          score and word count.  This has been fixed.
  14.  
  15. 2. DISPLAYING SCREENS - When running Wordchase under
  16.          Windows 95 you would sometimes get a screen
  17.          that was slightly larger then the bitmap
  18.          it was displaying. This has been fixed.
  19.  
  20. 3. SCORING - During the round you will now be able to
  21.          track your progress during the round.  You
  22.          will notice the SCORE and WORDS captions
  23.          will turn white and track your current score
  24.          and word count.  This score is only to show
  25.          you how many words you've selected, it will
  26.          change accordingly depending on how many
  27.          of those words match the computers list of
  28.          words.

  30. 4. SCORING - If you receive a high score you will now
  31.          be presented with your high score for that
  32.          round and the computers score for that round.
  33.          Previously you would receive your high score
  34.          for the round and the computers score for
  35.          the game.  This was confusing and has been
  36.          fixed.

  38. 5. WINDOWS 95 - We have gotten plenty of feedback about
  39.          Windows 95 and Wordchase, and so far there 
  40.          have been no problems with the games
  41.          operation.  Wordchase runs under Windows 95
  42.          but is still a 16 bit application.

  44. 6. GAME - You now have 4 game limits.  Instead of only
  45.          playing to 500 or 1000 points, you can now
  46.          choose between 100, 300, 500 or 1000 points.

  50.                 ENHANCEMENTS FROM 1.0a TO 2.0
  51.  
  52. 1. SOUND - WordChase now supports your Sound Card.  If you
  53.          don't have a sound card there is limited sound
  54.          available for your PC Speaker.
  55.  
  56. 2. CHANGING PUZZLES - You can now manipulate the order of
  57.          the puzzles.  You have two options, first is to
  58.          start over at the beginning.  Second is to enter
  59.          a puzzle number and start at that number.
  60.  
  61. 3. PUZZLE DISPLAY - The current puzzle number being played
  62.          is displayed in the caption of the floating
  63.          toolbar.  This is to help you identify the
  64.          puzzles as you're going along.
  65.  
  66. 4. MORE PUZZLES - The registered version now comes with 
  67.          200 puzzles instead of 100. 
  68.  
  69. 5. REGISTRATION MODULE - WordChase now allows you to fill
  70.          out the registration form within the program.  Just
  71.          enter the necessary information and hit print.
  72.   
  73. 6. CERTIFIED SPELLING OF ALL WORDS - We now run the puzzles
  74.          and dictionary against a database for correct 
  75.          spelling.  All words the computer produces are 
  76.          guaranteed to be correctly spelled.

  78. 7. WINDOWS 95 COMPATIBLE - WordChase has been tested under
  79.          "Windows 95" and will easily migrate to this new
  80.          operating system when it becomes available.

  84.                 ENHANCEMENTS FROM 1.0 TO 1.0A
  85.  
  86. 1. WCHASE.INI - WordChase now has its own .INI file and no
  87.         longer uses the win.ini file to store it's info in.
  88.         The program will also check your win.ini file for
  89.         version 1.0 information and delete it if found.
  90.  
  91. 2. ACCEPTING WORDS - WordChase now allows you to accept a
  92.         word by clicking the "Right Mouse Button", as well
  93.         as clicking the Left mouse button on the ACCEPT 
  94.         button.  This feature speeds up the game
  95.         tremendously, and is quite handy.
  96.  
  97. 3. 3 MINUTE GAME - WordChase now has a option for a three
  98.         minute game, version 1.0 only had 5, 7 & 10 minute
  99.         game options.
