  12. 1. INSTALLING
  13. To play Strangers II, simply double click on the
  14. file called STRAN2.EXE.  Windows 95 is recommended, some Windows 3.X computers
  15. may not have enough memory (but probably will).  If you want to have an 
  16. icon for it:

  18. -FOR WINDOWS 3.X
  19. 1. Go into a folder
  20. 2. Go to FILE, then NEW, then OKAY
  21. 3. Have the destination directory be
  22. <Drive SRANGERS II is in>:\<Directory>\stran2.exe
  23. (EXAMPLE: C:\AOL30\DOWNLOAD\stran2.exe)
  24. 4. After it's created, go to FILE, PROPERTIES, CHANGE
  25. ICON.
  26. 5. For the file that the icon is in, do step 3, but
  27. instead of typing in 'stran2.exe' type in 'icon4.ico'.
  28. 6. You're done!!

  30. -FOR WINDOWS '95
  31. 1. Right-click anywhere on the screen
  32. 2. Go to NEW, SHORTCUT
  33. 3. Have the destination directory be
  34. <Drive STRANGERS is in>:\<Directory>\stran2.exe
  35. (EXAMPLE: C:\AOL30\DOWNLOAD\stran2.exe)
  36. 4. After it's created, right-click on the icon, go to
  37. PROPERTIES, then PROGRAM, then CHANGE ICON
  38. 5. For the file that the icon is in, do step 3, but
  39. instead of typing in 'stran2.exe' type in 'icon4.ico'.
  40. 6. You're done!

  42. 2. PLAYING
  43. -Story: You are a doctor.  After foiling a spy ring you relaxed for a while.
  44.   Right now you are sitting in your appartment, and your friend the Leader 
  45. knocks on you door.  'What is it?' you ask.  'It's the old members of the 
  46. crime ring that are left,' he says. 'I think they are planning something.  
  47. I need you to help me.'  He hands you a piece of paper that has the address o
  48. f the person's house on it.  'Come on,' he says, 'let's go.'  All of a 
  49. sudden bullets come in through the doorway and kill the Leader!  You rush 
  50. outside, only to see a car speeding away.  Crumpling the paper in your hand, 
  51. you head for the airport to go to the address.
  52. -Playing the game: This game is basically a no-brainer to figure out, but
  53. here are the instructions:
  54. There are 7 things on your consol: A message box, where
  55. you see messages, and Look button, and Hand button, and Inventory button,
  56. and North, South, West, and East buttons.  Sometimes there will be other
  57. buttons, depending on what's going on.
  58. When you click on the Look button, the word Look will appear in the message
  59. box.  If you click Hand, Hand will appear.  If Look is in it, it means that
  60. you will look at whatever you click on.  If Hand is in it, it means that 
  61. you will move, use, get, or something like that whatever you click on.  If
  62. you click on Inventory, you will see your inventory (duh).  If you can't go
  63. a direction, it will be in gray.  There is always a little Quit button in the
  64. lower right-hand corner.
