  1. Ringstones
  2. ----------

  4. Ringstones is shareware. Use Ringstones for 10 days. If you like the game and want 
  5. to keep it, send $15 to:

  13. Installation
  14. ------------

  16. All Ringstone files must be in the same directory on your hard drive. I recommend 
  17. that you create a directory for the files. The files are:
  18.  
  19.         Ringstns.EXE
  20.         Ringstn0.MID
  21.         Ringstn1.MID
  22.         Ringstn2.MID
  23.     Ringstn2.WAV
  24.         Ringstn3.MID
  25.         Ringstn4.MID
  26.         Ringstns.HLP
  27.  
  28. When you run Ringstones, the file Ringstns.INI will be created in the working
  29. directory.
  30.  
  31. 1) From Windows, highlight the group to which you want to add Ringstones 
  32. (e.g. Games).
  33.  
  34. 2) Select File|New to create an Item.
  35.  
  36. 3) Either enter the full pathname, or use Browse to select RINGSTNS.EXE.
  37.  
  38. 4) Set the Working Directory to be the same as where you have put the 
  39. Ringstone files.
  40.  
  41. NOTE: If you do not set the working directory, Ringstones may not be able to
  42. find the WAV files.
  43.  
  44. 5) Click OK.
  45.  
  46. You are now ready to play Ringstones. The online Help contains complete 
  47. instructions on How to Play.

  62. Sound
  63. -----
  64. On start up, Ringstones will check your system for MIDI and WAV sound 
  65. compatibility. If you do not have either capability on your system, 
  66. Ringstones will display an applicable error message and will then disable 
  67. the sound and/or Music.

  69. NOTE: You must have a valid Windows sound driver installed in order for 
  70. Ringstones to play sound. Consult your windows manual for more information on 
  71. installing drivers. Also check any documentation which came with your sound 
  72. card.

  74. Graphics
  75. --------
  76. Your graphics card must be able to support a 256 colour palette.
  77.  
  78. NOTE: If you have an ATI Graphic card with Mach Utilities, use the FlexDesk 
  79. control panel (Advanced settings) to ensure that the 256 colour palette is 
  80. turned on. You may still use Ringstones with the palette off, but the colour 
  81. quality will be reduced.
