Mindbuster! v4
Mindbuster! is a program that requires Windows to run. It is written in
Visual Basic, but does NOT require you, the user, to have that particular
program on your computer.
You also need the file VBRUN200.DLL to run the program. This file is NOT
supplied with the Install program. It is a Microsoft program readily
available on Bulletin Boards and various On-Line Services like AOL,
Compuserve and Prodigy. It should reside in either the same directory as the
program or in the \WINDOWS or the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.
A word about the sounds. Visual Basic does not have the PLAY command which
many Basics do. This is a result of the nature and structure of the Windows
environment -- one if its 'features'. Windows allows several programs to be
running simultaneously. It would not be nice to stop them from running just
so you could play a few bars of your favorite song.
If, however, you have a sound board installed, or have installed
SPEAKER.DRV on your machine you will have access to a few sound effects.
The changes from previous versions are considerable. The basic playing
"engine" has not changed, but the look-and-feel has been considerably
improved.
(1) Items have been rearranged on the Menus. There are now 4 top-level
items: Game, Commands, Options, and Help
(2) All the options are available from the Main Menu in a more Windows-
like fashion.
(3) The ability to have two humans play each other has been added.
(4) The entire HELP system has been completely redone. It is now a true
Windows Help file.
Mindbuster! is considered SHAREWARE, and your contribution of $10 is
most welcome. Also welcome are reports of problems, errors, and
suggestions for any future revisions.
