  34. 1.1  What is Matchup Hockey?
  35. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

  37.   Matchup Hockey is a hockey simulator / game. It matches up 2 teams
  38. and their statistics and allows for the Matchups that were never possible.  
  39. Imagine Gretzky vs. Orr.  Players of today can face the greats from earlier 
  40. eras. How about the '90's Redwings vs. the '80's Oilers!
  41.  
  42.   The outcome is NOT random, rather based on the statistics of the players
  43. matched up. Just pick the teams to Matchup and faceoff. You control the 
  44. speed of simulation - watch the suspenseful play-by-play or you can use
  45. the Lightning feature to complete a game in just seconds.  View the statistics
  46. of the game you just completed and compile them to keep track of a 
  47. seven-game series, an entire season or whatever you wish.

  49.   Even Edit/Create your own teams! The Stats are in comma delimited text
  50. format so they are easily imported into spreadsheet programs.

  52.   View compiled stats (*.ch) or the statistics of a Matchup Hockey 
  53. team (*.hoc).  Call a timeout or bring in a new goalie. Seasons and best of
  54. Series' available!

  57. 1.2 How to play

  59.  Just select the Home and Visiting teams along with their starting lineups and
  60. tipoff! You have the ability to control the speed of game simulation.  
  61. Use the Lightning feature to complete the game in just seconds.  
  62. Use the Quick Pass feature to flip through matchups quickly or use the Cruise 
  63. Control button to relax and enjoy the play-by-play occur.  
  64.  View the statistics of the game you just completed and compile them to 
  65. keep track of a seven game series, an entire season or whatever you wish.    
  66.  Select COMPILE to keep track of statistics over a number of games. Even 
  67. Edit/Create your own teams.  The Stats are in comma delimited text format
  68. so they are easily imported in to spreadsheet programs.

  104. Shareware is a distribution method that gives users a chance to try software
  105. before buying it. If you try a Shareware program and continue using it, 
  106. you are required to register it.  It is a nice concept for both users and
  107. programmers.

  117. Windows version - Just run matchuph.exe.  There are several custom controls, 
  118.  which are listed below in 4.4, which must be in your path or current
  119.  directory.  Sounds (WAV) must also be in your path or current directory.

  139.    Play Matchup hockey in Windows in 256 colors.

  141.    To Change lineups, Edit a team and enter the stats.  Use the SWAP feature
  142.    to quickly switch the lineup positions of 2 players.
