  5. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
  6. -------------------
  7. Jigsaw 2 for Windows is a jigsaw puzzle simulation.  You solve the puzzle by 
  8. dragging and dropping the puzzle pieces with a mouse.  The puzzle pieces have 
  9. the traditional interlocking shapes, and the pieces lock together when 
  10. properly arranged.  A color picture is formed when the puzzle is fully 
  11. assembled.

  13. The computer takes care of the mundane tasks, like finding all the edge pieces 
  14. and sorting pieces by color.  You can save your work in progress and return to 
  15. it later, so this jigsaw puzzle won't tie up your kitchen table.  And unlike 
  16. traditional jigsaw puzzles, there's never a missing piece!

  18. Several jigsaw puzzles are included, and there is a facility for generating new 
  19. puzzles from bitmap files (.BMP or .GIF), so your favorite images of loved 
  20. ones or whatever can be made into jigsaw puzzles.  (The puzzle generation 
  21. feature is only available to registered owners of Jigsaw 2).

  23. System requirements for running Jigsaw 2:  IBM-compatible computer 
  24. (80286 or higher) with a Microsoft-compatible mouse, VGA (or higher) 
  25. display, and Windows 3.1.

  38. the instructions in Jigsaw's Help menu.

  48. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  50. To run Jigsaw for Windows, you need Windows 3.1 (tm), an industry-standard
  51. computer with a 80286 or higher CPU, a VGA or higher resolution display,
  52. and a mouse.

  64. INSTALLATION
  65. ------------
  66. If you download Jigsaw from an Online service, the files may be in a 
  67. compressed format.  The compressed files have names ending in .ZIP.
  68. Use PKUNZIP to extract the archived files.  For example, 
  69.        
  70.        PKUNZIP JIGSAW20
  71.  
  72. PKUNZIP is a shareware program available from many online services.

  74. RUNNING JIGSAW
  75. --------------
  76. To add the Jigsaw icon to the Program Manager, Select "New..." from the 
  77. "File" menu.  Choose "Program Item" and click OK.  Then use the browser
  78. to select file JIGSAW.EXE.

  80. To run Jigsaw, double-click on the Jigsaw icon.

  82. You can also run Jigsaw using the "Run..." command from the Program Manager 
  83. "File" menu.

  85. PUZZLE FILES AND DISPLAYS
  86. -------------------------
  87. The puzzle files included in this archive are designed for use with VGA or
  88. VESA-compatible Super VGA displays.  The 16-color puzzles can be used with
  89. either 16-color VGA or 256-color Super VGA displays.  The 256-color puzzles 
  90. require a Super VGA display to show the proper colors.

  92. If you have a VGA display operating in a 16-color mode, try the 
  93. following 16-color puzzle files:

  102. Version 2.10 will also work with display drivers which display 32K and 
  103. 64K colors.
