  1. The A15x6 Game
  2.  
  3. A15x6 is a one person game. There are nine squares arranged in a 
  4. 3 x 3 pattern, that is, three squares to a side. Each of the nine
  5. squares has a unique color and letter. The letters go from A
  6. through I. Hidden under the letters are the numbers 1 through 9.
  7. The sum of the three numbers in each row is shown to the right of 
  8. the row. The sum of the three numbers in a column is shown below
  9. the column. Sometimes the sum of the numbers in each of the two
  10. diagonals are shown below and to the left and to the right of the
  11. lower end of the diagonals. When A15x6 first comes up, the letters
  12. appear in alphabetical order: left to right, top to bottom. The
  13. sums of the hidden numbers are not visible at this time. To the
  14. left of the large square are eight circles arranged in two
  15. columns. The left column is used for playing the "Easy" version
  16. of the game while the ones on the right are for the "Hard"
  17. version. The numbers inside the circles represent minutes. When
  18. you are ready to start playing, select one of the circles by
  19. clicking in it with the left mouse button. This will set the
  20. type of game and the amount of play time.

  22. After clicking in one of the circles, they will be replaced by a
  23. set of three boxes. The topmost box shows the amount of play time
  24. remaining, in seconds. Below that is the time used up. At the
  25. bottom is the score. The sums of rows and columns will also 
  26. appear. In the Hard game, you will also see the totals of the two
  27. diagonals.

  29. The object of the game is to make the sums of each row and each
  30. column become 15. In addition, in the Hard game, the sum of the
  31. two diagonals must also become 15. Each time you manage to do
  32. this, your score goes up by 10.

  34. At the beginning of each game, the hidden numbers are scrambled
  35. randomly so that each game is different. The exception to this is
  36. the Demo Version where the numbers start out in the same positions
  37. each time. You play by swapping squares. This changes the row and
  38. column (and diagonal) totals. To swap, you click, drag and drop
  39. with the left mouse button. You keep doing this until all the
  40. large blue numbers become 15. If you have more time left, click
  41. anywhere on the board and a new game will begin.

  43. When time runs out, you can start a new series of games. You will
  44. see the circles again and you will be able to select the type of
  45. game and the amount of play time.

  47. A15x6 is a board game that you play on an IBM compatible PC with
  48. a 486 chip or better and a speed of at least 66 MHz. You need
  49. Windows 95. You must have 1 MB of free space on your hard drive.
  50. Sound makes the game more enjoyable.

  52. For best results, set the display to 64K colors (16-bit). If this
  53. is not available, use the highest setting possible. Do not use 16
  54. Colors.

  56. This is a limited function demo version which is free. It can be
  57. downloaded as a zip file. Once it is on your hard disk, you have 
  58. to unzip it. This produces the following files:
  59.  
  60. 1.  A15x6dd.exe. This is the game. When you see it in Explorer,
  61.     double click on it to run it. You can create a short cut to
  62.     it for your convenience.

  64. 2.  Readme.txt is the file you are reading now.
