  3. Myriad recently received a copy of a
  4. phone bill for an Illinois company
  5. that sent us through the roof!
  6.  
  7. As if it wasn't bad enough that the
  8. government screwed up the phone company
  9. through deregulation (yes, I know, they
  10. had to break up the monopoly), then
  11. this comes along:

  13. Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety
  14. 109 E. Main
  15. Maroa IL 61756

  17. Their phone bill is only $.72 a month!
  18.  
  19. What bullshit!  The goverment can
  20. do this for a company who has about
  21. 15 lines, a switchboard and computer
  22. and data lines!

  24. And we all know the rates they charge
  25. use for things!  How is it that the
  26. phone company can charge us shy-high
  27. rates for service and lower the
  28. gov'ts bill for such a large system?
  29. Could it be government paybacks? Is
  30. there deals going on under the table?

  32. You decide.

  34. Maybe this is something we could
  35. check into, just like the deal with
  36. the bounced checks by our politicians.
  37. Don't you think the government gets
  38. enough breaks?  Why doesn't the tax
  39. payer get any breaks?
