Free Classic:
Free for the price of shipping: Commodore PET-2001.
Truly an antique in the computing world, this beast was built in 1978
and features built in black and white monitor, heavy steel housing,
built in tape drive, and smaller format keyboard. I should just scrap
it but I haven't got the heart, so I'm hoping I can find a fellow
Commodore enthusiast who will give it a good home and life.
This machine sports a whopping 8K of RAM and has the ROM upgrade from
about 1980. (Of course the old ROMs are included too!) It has
not come up reliably in several years, and the fuse cap is now
missing. Substantial documentation, including a full set of
schematics (and you'll probably need 'em!) is included.
If you are in the San Jose/Cupertino/Campbell area and want to pick
it up, you are welcome to have it. Otherwise I will ship it to you if
you'll pay for the shipping.
I know, I know, most of you will laugh at me and point out that you
threw yours away 7-10 years ago, but I also know that somewhere out
there is someone that would love to add this classic to their
collection. If you are that person, write to me.
