¢************************************¢¢¢ A NOTE TO GEMINI 10X USERS¢ __________________________¢¢ Though DDII works fine with most¢ Gemini 10X printers, a few Gemini¢ users have had trouble printing¢ files.¢¢ The printer seems to send several¢ form feeds (not caused by DDII)¢ if a file or the first printed¢ page of a file begins with a¢ blank line. If you use a Gemini¢ and this occurs it can be¢ remedied by forcing DDII to print¢ something other than a linefeed¢ for those specific blank lines.¢ This can be done by placing a¢ period or other character on the¢ first line of a file. Also, DDII¢ can be tricked into printing¢ spaces instead of a linefeed by¢ inserting enough spaces before a¢ non-space character so that the¢ non-space character exceeds the¢ right margin and is not printed.¢ This also may have to be done¢ with blank lines following the \v¢ and \n commands discussed in the¢ documentation.¢¢ This problem seems to occur with¢ only certain version(s) of Gemini¢ 10X's. I'm in the process of¢ identifying which versions are¢ and aren't compatible with DDII.¢ Since Star Micronics, the¢ manufacturer of Gemini 10X's,¢ offers free replacements to other¢ versions, this may prove to be a¢ simple solution.
