Release Notes August 1998
==============================================================
The following information reflects changes made since the
WinFax PRO User's Guide was printed. We recommend you
review this document before you install and use WinFax.
This document is one source of late-breaking troubleshooting
information. For the latest information on using WinFax,
point your browser to:

INSTALLATION NOTES
==============================================================
This section describes known issues that you may encounter
when installing WinFax.
Upgrading from WinFax PRO 8.x to WinFax PRO 9.0
===============================================
When you upgrade from WinFax PRO 8.x to WinFax PRO 9.0, you
lose your pager settings.
==============================================================
MODEM ISSUES
==============================================================
USR modems
==========
If you install your USR modem as a Standard modem, Windows will
send the wrong TAPI string to the modem, causing errors.
To avoid this, install your USR modem using the USR INF file.
==============================================================
MICROSOFT EXCHANGE/OUTLOOK ISSUES
==============================================================
Upgrading from WinFax Starter Edition
=====================================
If you upgraded to WinFax PRO 9.0 from the WinFax Starter
Edition you may not be able to click an option from a new email
message, or you may get an out of memory error. Close the
message and on the Outlook Tools menu, click Accounts. Then set
another email account as the Default.
==============================================================
AOL ISSUES
==============================================================
If you install WinFax PRO and you use AOL 3.0 or 4.0
Preview Edition in Windows 95, you will experience problems
using the AOL internal browser. AOL is currently working on
fixing the problem for their next software release. Until that
time, use another browser (for example Internet Explorer or
Netscape) outside of the AOL program to access the Internet.
==============================================================
WinFax PRO for Networks
==============================================================
Upgrading a shared installation
===============================
Do not upgrade WinFax PRO if you have a shared WinFax PRO for
Networks installation.
