  67. KeyText - the keyboard macro program with Windows automation. KeyText's
  68. basic function is the storing of pieces of text, ready to be typed or
  69. pasted into whatever application you are working on. Autotext in your
  70. system tray! You can set up hotkeys to all your favorite text items - one
  71. keypress and the text is in. Your Word Processor probably has a function
  72. like this already, but what about your database program, your desktop
  73. publisher, your e-mail program? The beauty of KeyText is that it's always
  74. there waiting in your tray, and works for most applications.

  76. Added to this keyboard macro ability are a number of features which
  77. transform it into a multi-purpose utility.

  79. Include in "text" commands to fill in the date, run programs, click
  80. buttons, change windows, select menu items, play a sound, display a
  81. message, and more. Easy wizard-based dialogs help you set it up. You can
  82. even specify an Internet address, and KeyText will take you there
  83. (assuming you have modem etc); hotkey it and you can launch your browser
  84. and go to the site on one keypress.

  86. Schedule items to start at specified times. Because the text
  87. can include commands (fields), you can run programs at specified times,
  88. display reminders or alarms with your choice of sound, even have an
  89. hourly chime.

  91. Windows automation. Tell KeyText to look out for a certain window or
  92. dialog, and then run an item. Completely automate password entries,
  93. repetitive dialogs, etc. KeyText itself includes 5 password levels to
  94. protect any passwords, credit card numbers etc you might store.

  96. KeyText can operate as a multiple clipboard, and makes collecting text
  97. easy. You can set up KeyText to monitor your clipboard, and whenever text
  98. is copied to it, automatically add the same text to a specified text
  99. item. This makes it easy to gather text from various sources to put into
  100. one destination. You don't even need to open a text file to get at its
  101. text; select it in Windows Explorer and a couple of mouse clicks puts a
  102. copy of it in KeyText ready for reuse.

  104. KeyText can either paste or type your text. Pasting is faster, but
  105. "typing", character by character, has advantages. It can include
  106. commands, it doesn't require the clipboard, and you can choose the speed.
  107. For the benefit of online-chat users it includes "simulate manual typing"
  108. settings; add some pauses, mistakes and backspaces and the person at the
  109. other end will never know it's being typed automatically!

  111. KeyText has a random link function. Set up your e-mail signature in
  112. KeyText, along with a random link to a range of quotations held in other
  113. items. Hotkey the signature if you like. Then, every time you press the
  114. hotkey, your e-mail signature will be typed in, followed by a quotation
  115. drawn at random.

  117. KeyText can display a miniature "keyboard" on your screen, which lets you
  118. "type" with your mouse or pointing device. This was added for the benefit
  119. of those who don't always have a keyboard attached, and asked for the
  120. facility to key text with KeyText. The Keypad also has a symbols tab; all
  121. those tricky symbols like ⌐ etc are only a click away - as are all the
  122. accented characters.

  124. It's very unobtrusive... It hides itself away in the tray, near your
  125. system clock. A left-click on the icon reveals a menu showing all your
  126. text items ready to be typed. A right-click shows all the options
  127. available.

  145. KeyText is distributed as a .zip file; extract the files to a (temporary)
  146. folder, and run SetupKT.exe. Or, if you have the self-extracting .exe
  147. version, simply run it. During the install process you can choose to have
  148. KeyText added to your list of programs which start every time Windows
  149. starts; you can change this later in KeyText.

  151. To uninstall, select KeyText from Add-Remove Programs in Windows control
  152. panel.

  154. Note that from v1.1, the KeyText setup program SetupKT.exe and the
  155. self-extracting .exe are digitally "signed" by MJMSoft Design Ltd., using
  156. public key cryptography. This can be confirmed with the SafenSigned

  158. the file is authentic and has not been modified or tampered with in the

  220. 1. DEFINITIONS
  221. The "Company" means MJMSoft Design Limited, a company incorporated in
  222. the United Kingdom under the laws of Scotland and registered under the
  223. Companies Act 1985 (registered number 183702) and having its registered
  224. office at 6 Polwarth Crescent, Edinburgh, EH11 1HW, United Kingdom.
  225. The "Software" means the KeyText program, being the program available by
  226. accessing the attached files and available for use on the Windows 95,
  227. Windows 98, Windows NT4, or later operating systems, and any future
  228. releases of the Software.

  230. 2. LICENSE
  231. 2.1 Completion of the installation of the Software licenses you to use
  232. the Software personally on one or more computers for evaluation
  233. purposes only. The License is transferable in terms of Clause 7 and
  234. will terminate at the end of 28 days subject to payment of the
  235. registration fee and completion of the registration process.
  236. 2.2 Payment of the registration fee and completion of the registration
  237. process will automatically continue the term of the License. This License
  238. will permit one copy of the Software to be used by the registered user on
  239. one computer at any one time. If it is intended that more than one person
  240. will use the Software they must register separately with the Company and
  241. make payment of the registration fee. If it is intended that the Software
  242. will be used on more than one computer at one time you should contact the
  243. Company to obtain the appropriate License.
  244. 2.3 This License covers this release and any future release of the
  245. Software.

  247. 3. TERM
  248. This License as extended pursuant to clause 2.2 of this License is
  249. effective until terminated by destruction of the Software and all
  250. associated documentation together with all copies of the Software. It
  251. will also terminate if you fail to abide by its terms. Upon termination
  252. you agree to destroy all copies of the Software and all documentation
  253. including any Software stored on the hard disk of any computer under
  254. your control.

  256. 4. MILLENIUM COMPLIANCE
  257. The Company has tested the Software for Year 2000 compliance, and has
  258. encountered no problems. Date logic is not used for counting the 28-day
  259. evaluation period; instead the Software counts the number of distinct
  260. days on which the Software is used. The Software's ability to include
  261. the date within a text item uses long date formats, which are
  262. unaffected by the 2000 boundary. The Company has tested various
  263. scenarios, including installation within 28 days of 1/1/2000, and has
  264. found no abnormalities. The Company provides no warranties in relation
  265. to Year 2000 compliance and your remedies for any such failure of the
  266. Software shall be limited to the provisions for technical support in
  267. Clause 5 and/or repayment of the registration fee.

  269. 5. SUPPORT
  270. The Company will provide free technical support in relation to the
  271. Software by mail or e-mail, which support is limited to advice and
  272. assistance relating to the installation and operation of the Software
  273. itself, and shall be provided for a period of 28 days, or 90 days if
  274. registered, from the date on which you make your first request to the
  275. Company for support. The Company does not undertake to give advice on
  276. "scripts" to perform specific tasks in other software applications. If
  277. you are experiencing difficulties in operating the Software you should
  278. refer to the Help file, including the section "Frequently asked
  279. questions", or, where appropriate, to the user manual for your operating
  280. system or to your IT department.

  282. 6. COPYRIGHT
  283. All title and copyright in and to the Software and any copies thereof
  284. are owned by the Company and the Company shall at all times retain
  285. ownership of the Software. You must maintain all copyright notices on
  286. all copies of the Software.

  288. 7. TRANSFER
  289. You are permitted to transfer the Software and the benefit of this
  290. License to another person provided that he has agreed to accept all the
  291. terms of this License and you contemporaneously transfer all copies of
  292. the Software you have made to that person or destroy all copies not
  293. transferred. If any transferee does not accept such terms then the
  294. License to the transferee shall automatically terminate. The transferee
  295. must register their details with the Company in order to obtain the
  296. benefit of the License.

  298. 8. RESTRICTIONS
  299. Except as expressly permitted by this License and save to the extent and
  300. in the circumstances required to be permitted by law you may not rent,

  308. You may distribute the unregistered version of the Software freely,
  309. provided you do not receive any direct payment for such distribution,

  311. be noted that the installation program SetupKT.exe is protected with a
  312. SafenSigned Digital Signature, and before running it the Company
  313. recommends that you use the SafenSigned Verifier to ensure that the
  314. installation program you received is authentic and has not been

  317. Any distribution may only be made subject to the terms of this License
