  1.                   Pegasus Mail Manuals for Multiple Users

  3. [ Please note - this order form is for ordering multi-user versions of the
  4.   Pegasus Mail manual set. For single users, please consult SU-ORDER.FRM. ]

  6. Pegasus Mail is free software - it may be used on as many workstations and
  7. servers as required without charge or obligation. If you wish, you can
  8. purchase printed manuals for Pegasus Mail; we want to stress to you that
  9. such a purchase is purely optional, although manual sales do contribute
  10. directly to the ongoing support and maintenance of the system.

  12. Separate manual sets are available for each version of Pegasus Mail (DOS,
  13. Windows and Macintosh) and for the Mercury Mail Transport System. They
  14. are sold as a single, high-quality loose-leaf printed manual supplied
  15. with a license which permits you to make a certain number of duplicates
  16. of the manual for use at your site. The available options are 5-copy
  17. licenses (single-copy for Mercury), or site licenses permitting unlimited
  18. copying at a single site. All manuals include a diskette containing the 
  19. matching version of the Pegasus Mail software at no charge. Site licensed 
  20. manuals include ASCII and RTF versions of the documentation on the 
  21. diskette as well.

  23. For licensing purposes, a "site" is the extent of a single organization in
  24. a single Metropolitan area; so, a University with three campuses in the
  25. same town would be covered by a single site license, but a government
  26. department with offices in four separate cities would require four
  27. licenses. For the purposes of this definition, State, National and
  28. Municipal Governments do not qualify as "organizations", nor do "umbrella"
  29. institutions, such as a Board of Education covering all high schools in a
  30. city.

  32. Special licensing arrangements: We are quite flexible about manual 
  33. licensing and will gladly consider proposals for special-case scenarios. 
  34. We also try to help charitable and environmental organizations where we 
  35. can. If you would like to discuss special-case licensing with us, please

  38. Ordering: to order Pegasus Mail manuals, please fill out the order form
  39. shown at the end of this file and return it by mail or fax with your
  40. purchase order, cheque or credit card details to:

  52. Orders: All orders must be submitted on our order form (see below, or in
  53. WGUIDE.HLP in the Pegasus Mail archive); you should attach your company
  54. or organization purchase order as well if applicable. Orders MUST be
  55. signed to accept our terms and conditions.

  57. Organizational purchase orders and payment: we are happy to accept
  58. organizational purchase orders provided that our invoice is paid under
  59. normal credit terms (nett 30 days). We can also accept payment by VISA
  60. or Mastercard - in order to do so, we need the card number, expiry
  61. date, the name exactly as shown on the card, and a clear signature on
  62. our order form. Credit card payments attract a 2.5% surcharge (the
  63. fee charged to us by the bank) and may not appear as an exact amount on
  64. your statement because we have to submit our vouchers converted to NZ
  65. dollars - we use the exchange rate prevailing on the processing date.
  66. If paying by credit card, please ensure that the details on your order
  67. form are typed, not written and ensure that our order is signed.

  69. Currency: all prices are shown in US dollars; we require payment in US 
  70. DOLLARS DRAWN ON A US BANK. The exception to this is for clients in New 
  71. Zealand, who are welcome to contact us for a New Zealand Dollar rate. 
  72. Please note the "US Bank" requirement carefully - payments in US Dollars 
  73. drawn on non-US banks attract considerable fees at this end and will be 
  74. returned unpresented.

  76. Invoices: all manual purchases are properly invoiced. New Zealand clients 
  77. will receive a valid Tax Invoice (prices are inclusive of GST in NZ).

  79. Payment by IMT (International Money Transfer): we are willing to accept
  80. payment by money transfer, but recommend that you avoid this method of
  81. payment because of serious weaknesses in the international banking system.
  82. If you pay by IMT, your bank MUST remit the funds DIRECTLY to the National
  83. Bank of New Zealand, Dunedin North Branch, account 060909-0106632-13. The
  84. name of the account is "David Harris, Pegasus Mail". Please stress to your
  85. bank the importance of the direct transfer - transfers sent to us via
  86. other banks in New Zealand will attract a processing fee which we refuse
  87. to accept; my bank has standing orders to reject such payments and return
  88. them to the sender. Only transfers made directly to the National Bank of
  89. New Zealand are acceptable. Please note that the "National Bank of New
  90. Zealand" and the "Bank of New Zealand" are completely different
  91. institutions.

  93. Fees and deductions: it appears to be common practice in parts of Europe
  94. for banks to deduct fees from the amount remitted - we will not accept
  95. such deductions and will return payments from which fees have been
  96. deducted unpresented. We require the amount paid to us to be the amount
  97. shown on the invoice.

  99. US Taxpayer information requests: we periodically receive requests from US 
  100. companies and organizations asking us to provide "FEIN" numbers, or Social 
  101. Security Numbers which are needed by the client for compliance with US Tax 
  102. Laws. We have contacted the US Commerce Attache in Sydney, Australia, and 
  103. advise on their recommendation that the vendor is NOT a US Citizen, and is 
  104. not resident in the USA for taxation purposes. We cannot provide the 
  105. information requested (we have neither a FEIN nor an SSN) and requests for 
  106. such information will not receive a reply. We suggest you record that the 
  107. vendor is a foreign national not subject to US taxation laws.

  109. Quotes, bids, pro-forma invoices and acknowledgments: because of the sheer 
  110. volume of paperwork we have to process, we regret that we are unable to 
  111. provide quotes, bids, pro-forma invoices or acknowledgments of receipt of 
  112. orders (other than by e-mail on specific request). The most recent version 
  113. of this file retrieved from us by e-mail may be taken as a firm quote - we 
  114. will honour the prices shown provided this form is used.

  116. VAT and import taxes: when we ship manuals, we enclose a commercial 
  117. invoice for customs purposes, itemized as US$11 for materials and the 
  118. remainder of the fee as a license charge. We are not responsible for taxes 
  119. or import duties levied on entry to your country and suggest you contact 
  120. your customs service in advance for information on any fees which might be 
  121. payable.

  123. Freight charges: all manual prices include courier shipment via EMS 
  124. (Express Mail Service) anywhere in the world. EMS usually provides a four-
  125. day service to any destination. We can ship via airmail on specific 
  126. request, but are unable to ship via other carriers (such as FedEx, UPS or 
  127. DHL).

  129. Delivery times: the usual processing time for an order is 7-10 days plus 
  130. the time required for shipment. Occasionally the time required will be 
  131. longer than this, and if a new version of the manual is due in the near 
  132. future, we reserve the right to hold your order until it is released, so 
  133. that you get the most up-to-date product.
