  25. CATraxx is a quick, efficient, easy-to-use program for 
  26. organizing your music collection. CATraxx is developed 
  27. BY record collectors FOR record collectors to ensure 
  28. that you get all the features you need.

  30. With CATraxx you can register and look up information 
  31. about such things as: 
  32.  
  33.   - artist, album title, format, release date, 
  34.   - company, label, catalog number, 
  35.   - condition, playing time, purchase price and current 
  36.     value, 
  37.   - song titles, songwriters, producers, 
  38.   - studios, musicians, instruments. 
  39.  
  40. You can add personal comments for both albums and tracks. 
  41. Twenty special fields enable you to customize your catalog 
  42. and the database of information. You can even store a bitmap 
  43. picture of the album cover.

  47. Distribution

  49. CATraxx is distributed as shareware. This means you are 
  50. welcome to give copies of CATraxx to your friends and 
  51. colleagues. For a list of files that need to be distributed, 
  52. please see VENDINFO.DIZ. Do not, under any circumstances, 
  53. distribute CATRAXX.MEM. This file contains the serial number, 
  54. and with this information we can trace the copy back to you. 
  55. When CATRAXX.MEM is not present, CATraxx runs as an 
  56. unregistered shareware version.

  60. Installation
  61.  
  62. NOTE!
  63.   If you downloaded this package from the Internet, please 
  64.   read this paragraph very carefully: A file called 
  65.   VBRUN300.DLL needs to be installed on your computer before
  66.   SETUP is run. To save space, this file was not included 
  67.   in this package. Please check your SYSTEM directory 
  68.   (usually C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM) to see if you already have this
  69.   file (this is very likely). If not then download, unzip and 
  70.   copy the file to the SYSTEM directory. It is very important
  71.   that you do this before SETUP is run!

  73.   VBRUN300.DLL is available from most file servers,

  84. To install CATraxx, follow these steps:
  85.  
  86. From Diskette
  87.  
  88.   1. Insert diskette number 1 into your diskette drive.
  89.   
  90.   2. If you are running Microsoft Windows 3.1, from the Program 
  91.      Manager File menu choose Run.
  92.      
  93.      If you are running Microsoft Windows 95, from the Start 
  94.      menu choose Run.
  95.  
  96.   3. In the text box, type the path to the installation program, 
  97.      for example A:\SETUP, and choose OK.
  98.  
  99.   4. When requested, specify the directory where you want to 
  100.      install CATraxx. Unless you specify a different directory 
  101.      the application will be installed in C:\CATRAXX.
  102.  
  103.   5. Choose OK to start the installation process.
  104.  
  105. From Hard Disk
  106.  
  107.   1. Ensure that all CATraxx installation files are in the 
  108.      same directory, for example C:\CATTEMP.
  109.  
  110.   2. If you are running Microsoft Windows 3.1, from the Program 
  111.      Manager File menu choose Run.
  112.  
  113.      If you are running Microsoft Windows 95, from the Start 
  114.      menu choose Run.
  115.  
  116.   3. In the text box, type the name of the drive and directory 
  117.      where the installation files are located, then type \SETUP 
  118.      (for example C:\CATTEMP\SETUP) and choose OK.
  119.  
  120.   4. When requested, specify the directory where you want to 
  121.      install CATraxx. Unless you specify a different directory 
  122.      the application will be installed in C:\CATRAXX.
  123.  
  124.   5. Choose OK to start the installation process. 
  125.  
  126. If you have any problems with the installation, you may
  127. install files manually by following this procedure:
  128.  
  129.   1. Start a "DOS-window" (In Program Manager double-click 
  130.      on the MS-DOS icon).
  131.   2. What you type at the DOS prompt depends on the file
  132.      you want to install. For example, if you want to install
  133.      THREED.VBX, follow these steps:
  134.  
  135.      - Insert the correct diskette (in this case diskette
  136.        no. 1) into you diskette drive.
  137.     
  138.      - Type this command (you may need to substitute A for
  139.        the letter of your diskette drive, for example B)
  140.       
  141.          EXPAND A:\THREED.VB_ C:\CATRAXX\THREED.VBX  <Enter>
  142.  
  143.        THREED.VBX is unpacked and copied to the program
  144.        directory.
  145.  
  146.      Normally, files with the extension VBX or DLL should be 
  147.      installed in the SYSTEM directory (usually 
  148.      C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM). Do not copy files to this directory 
  149.      yourself. If, however, you do, please make a copy of the 
  150.      original file first. You might overwrite a newer version, 
  151.      and as a result some other application might not work.
