  28. This is Skandalfo's IFF2ASCII converter. It takes an 1-plane iff file and
  29. converts it to characters. There are two programs, iff2ascii, which accurately
  30. converts borders, and iff2grayascii, that puts the main focus on converting
  31. greyscales (for dithered 2 colors images). The usage is in this way:
  32.  
  33.     iff2ascii iff-file-name font-name.font {7|8} >output-file
  34.  
  35.     iff2grayascii iff-file-name font-name.font {7|8} >output-file
  36.  
  37. The first parameter gives the iff file to be converted.
  38.  
  39. The second parameter is the name (ending in ".font") of the font used for the
  40. conversion. This font should be a monospaced 8x8 font. If it isn't the results
  41. will be unpredictable.

  43. The third parameter is either an "8" or a "7". This controls which characters
  44. will be used for the conversion. If "8" is given, characters 32-127 and
  45. 160-255 will be used. If "7", only characters 32-127.

  47. The output is written to the standard output, so you'll have to redirect it if
  48. you want to save the output to a file (if you don't it will be a preview in
  49. the shell).
