  2.     FONTS for Microsoft Windows with ATM (and others)

  4. These archives each contain IBM-format Type-1 postsctipt fonts. They
  5. are all conversions from MAC pd and/or shareware fonts (from
  6. sumex, etc).
  7.  
  8. Most have both the .pfb and .pfm files which Windows 3.0's ATM
  9. requires.  Some have .afm files also, which is something that
  10. some other PC programs require.  The included .ps files are
  11. the MAC version of the .pfb.  *Some* files have only the .pfb
  12. file, and those are useful with some PC applications.
  13.  
  14. Most all of these font (where I can tell) packages require that
  15. all the original files be included in distributions intact.
  16. Thus, this is fulfilled literally.  In each .zip file is the
  17. original MAC-style .sit archive. ALL information is exactly
  18. as gotten.  The fonts have been translated with no modification
  19. to the fonts themselves (only the file format translated).
  20. If there is some problem, it may have been in the translation,
  21. and not due to the original font.  If you like a font, and it's
  22. one of the shareware ones, payment is probably a valid thing
  23. to do.  If you have problems with a font, complaints probably
  24. are not valid since you are not using it on a MAC as the originator
  25. intended.

  27. Readme's were extracted as best as possible, some/many are still
  28. in MAC form with CR's instead of CRLF's that pc's like.  Various
  29. file viewers in a PC can handle this.
  30.  
  31. These have not all been tried in Windows 3.0 as yet, although
  32. several have.  This is being posted to save the very time
  33. consuming effort of conversion.
