  1. Welcome to Orchid's World of Video Graphics.  The following are
  2. BBS installation procedures for Windows 3.0 and 3.1! 
  3.  
  4. We have a couple of suggestions for proper installion of the NEW
  5. ORCHID WINDOWS DRIVER which now supports HiColor or 640x480 
  6. 32,768 colors.
  7.  
  8. 1. You will need to download "ORCHID31.EXE" from our BBS.  Copy this
  9. file to a formatted floppy diskette.  Change to that disk drive 
  10. letter (A: or B:) and type "ORCHID31" <ENTER>.

  12.         Copy ORCHID31.EXE a:  <ENTER>
  13.         A:>orchid31           <ENTER>

  15. 2. The self-extracting file will unpack the following files: 
  16.  
  17.                 FINSTALL.EXE
  18.                 ORCHIDF.EXE
  19.                 ORCHIDF.2G_
  20.                 ORCHIDF.3G_
  21.                 ORCHIDF.38_
  22.                 ORCHIDF.DR_
  23.                 OEMSETUP.INF
  24.                 ORCHD30.38_
  25.                 ORCHD30.3G_

  28. 3. Run the FINSTALL file from your floppy drive and answer the
  29. Windows 3.X questions for proper installation.  Note: help is
  30. provide in the FINSTALL by hitting the "F1" key.

  34. 4. If you are using Windows 3.1, go to your Window's CONTROL PANEL 
  35. in the MAIN GROUP and double click on that icon to enter the CONTROL 
  36. PANEL.  Find the Orchid Icon and double click on that Icon to 
  37. choose a resolution and complete the installation.

  39. If you are using Windows 3.0, the Orchid Icon will be on the desktop.

  41. Important! If you have previously installed the Orchid Drivers on 
  42. your system, and you are using Windows 3.1, the ORCHID ICON will
  43. appear on your Desktop.  Please use your DOS Editor to remove 
  44. it from you WIN.INI file which can be found in your WINDOWS 
  45. subdirectory.  When you edit your WIN.INI file, you will find a 
  46. statement "LOAD=ORCHID.EXE", remove the ORCHID.EXE from that 
  47. statement.
