  192.  This option allows you to ADD files into
  193.  the compressed by displaying a list of
  194.  files in a window.  After the window is
  195.  displayed you tag the files to ADD by
  196.  pressing the space bar.  After all files

  198.  process the tagged files.

  201.  This option will allow you to add or
  202.  update the compressed file comments.

  204. *altd  !!delete all extracted!!
  205.  This option will delete all files that
  206.  are contained in the compressed file
  207.  from the current DISK:\DIRECTORY,or the
  208.  one specified via the ALT-P command.
  209.  
  210. *alte  !!extract list!!
  211.  This option allow you to specify which
  212.  files to extract from the compressed
  213.  file. You may specify more the one
  214.  filespec when the prompt appears.  Wild
  215.  cards are allowed.
  216.  
  217. *altf    !!freshen-from-list!!
  218.  This option allows you to FRESHEN files
  219.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  220.  of files in a window.  After the window
  221.  is displayed you tag the files to
  222.  FRESHEN by pressing the space bar.
  223.  After all files have been tagged press
  224.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  225.  files.
  226.  
  227. *altg   !!search for string!!
  228.  This option allows you to search all ,or
  229.  only tagged files, for a specific string of
  230.  characters using the program FGREP.COM
  231.  (Which must be in a directory in your PATH
  232.  statement). If no files are tagged then all
  233.  files will be searched.  After the search is
  234.  completed to results will be listed on the
  235.  screen.
  236.  
  237. *altm   !!move-from-list!!
  238.  This option allows you to MOVE files
  239.  into the compressed by displaying a list
  240.  of files in a window.  After the window
  241.  is displayed you tag the files to MOVE
  242.  by pressing the space bar.  After all
  243.  files have been tagged press the ENTER
  244.  key to process the tagged files.
  245.  
  246. *altn  !!extract newer!!
  247.  This option will extract ALL or TAGGED NEWER
  248.  files from the compressed file into the
  249.  current DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified
  250.  via the ALT-P command.
  251.  
  252. *altp  !!!get_extract_path!!!
  253.  This options allows you to specify a
  254.  disk and directory of where any
  255.  extracted files will be placed.  Specify
  256.  the extract path as follows:
  257.  DISK:\DIRECTORY Pressing any key other
  258.  than the ENTER key will clear the
  259.  extract path. To display a directory
  260.  window enter ONLY a DRIVE LETTER
  261.  FOLLOWED BY A COLON, then press the
  262.  enter key.
  263.  
  264. *alts   !!speed_srch!!
  265.  Speed search allows you to find a file
  266.  in the compressed file quickly.  After
  267.  the window pops up enter the first
  268.  character of the file you wish to find.
  269.  The display will be repositioned to the
  270.  first file in the list that starts with
  271.  that letter. (NOTE since files are
  272.  stored in random order sort the list
  273.  first)
  274.  
  275. *altt  !!toggle tagged display line!!
  276.  Pressing the ALT-T keys will toggle
  277.  the tagged file display line at the
  278.  bottom of the screen.
  279.  
  280. *altu    !!update-from-list!!
  281.  This option allows you to UPDATE files
  282.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  283.  of files in a window.  After the window
  284.  is displayed you tag the files to
  285.  UPDATE by pressing the space bar.
  286.  After all files have been tagged press
  287.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  288.  files.
  289.  
  290. *altv  !!view archive comments!!
  291.  This option will display the master
  292.  comment record and the file comment
  293.  records for the selected compressed
  294.  file.
  295.  
  296. *altx  !!extract all!!
  297.  This option will extract ALL files from
  298.  the compressed file into the current
  299.  DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified via
  300.  the ALT-P command.
  301.  
  302. *alty   !!run pgm on tagged!!
  303.  This option allows run a program against
  304.  all tagged file(s).  You will be prompted
  305.  to enter the program name to run, the
  306.  parameters to pass to the program, if you
  307.  want SHEZ to swap itself out of memory when
  308.  running the program, and if you want SHEZ
  309.  to pause after each execution of your
  310.  program.
  311.  
  312. *altz  !!virus check!!
  313.  This option will check files to see if they
  314.  have been infected with a virus.  You must
  315.  have the virus checking program from McAfee
  316.  Assoc. call SCAN.EXE version 39 or greater,
  317.  and have used the configuration program to
  318.  tell SHEZ where to find SCAN.EXE.

  320.  IF FILES ARE TAGGED SHEZ WILL ONLY CHECK
  321.  THE TAGGED FILES FOR INFECTION.
  322.  
  323. *alt1  !!authenticity toggle!!
  324.  This option will toggle the authenticity
  325.  option when using PKZIP version 1.1 or
  326.  greater.  If the authenticity mode is
  327.  toggled on a ! will appear next to the
  328.  [FILE LIST] window header on the main
  329.  screen or next to the NAME field on the
  330.  compressed file contents screen.
  331.  
  332. *c  !!create-new!!
  333.  This will allow you to create a NEW
  334.  compressed file.  You will be prompted
  335.  to enter the
  336.  DISK:\DIRECTORY\FILENAME.EXT of the
  337.  compressed file to create, whether you
  338.  want to add or move files into the new
  339.  compressed file, and the DISK:\DIRECTORY
  340.  of the files to add and/or move to the
  341.  new compressed file.
  342.  YOU MUST SUPPLY A FILE EXTENSION FOR THE
  343.  FILE TO BE CREATED.  SHEZ CURRENTLY WILL
  344.  ALLOW YOU TO CREATE ZIP,ARC,ZOO,LZH and
  345.  PAK files!!!!!
  346.  
  347.  You will also be asked if you want to
  348.  TAG files to be added/moved or process
  349.  the entered file spec as is.
  350.  
  351.  If the compression program you choose
  352.  supports saving path information you will
  353.  also be asked if you want to save
  354.  directory information, and if you want to
  355.  recurse the directory tree.
  356.  
  357.  
  358. *ctld  !!delete tagged!!
  359.  This option will delete all tagged files
  360.  from the compressed file.  You will be
  361.  asked to verify the delete before the
  362.  files are actually deleted from the
  363.  compressed file.
  364.  
  365. *ctle  !!extract tagged!!
  366.  This option will extract all tagged
  367.  files from the compressed file.
  368.  
  369. *ctlenter  !!alternate viewer!!
  370.  This option will activate the alternate
  371.  file viewer if one has been set via the
  372.  SHEZEV environment variable.  PLEASE SEE
  373.  THE USER MANUAL FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON
  374.  SETTING UP AN ALTERNATE VIEWER.
  375.  
  376. *ctlt  !!update compressed time and date!!
  377.  This option will set the compressed
  378.  file's time and date to the time and
  379.  date corresponding to the newest file in
  380.  the compressed file.
  381.  
  382. *ctlu  !!untag all!!
  383.  This option will untag all currently
  384.  tagged files.
  385.  
  386. *ctlsp  !!tag all files!!
  387.  This option will tag all files in the
  388.  currently displayed window.
  389.  
  390. *ctlv  !!convert sfx files!!
  391.  This option will convert a self
  392.  extracting file back to its native
  393.  compressed file format. The self
  394.  extracting file will remain untouched.
  395.  The normal compressed file will be
  396.  built on the same drive and directory
  397.  where self extracting file is found.
  398.  
  399. *ctly  !!copy members to another arc!!
  400.  This option allows you to copy all
  401.  tagged files from the current compressed
  402.  file into another compressed file.  The
  403.  target compressed file may be any
  404.  currently supported format.
  405.  
  406. *ctlx !!exit to extract dir!!
  407.  This option will exit SHEZ and will
  408.  drop you off into disk and directory
  409.  that is specified as the extract
  410.  location.
  411.  
  412. *d  !!delete one file!!
  413.  This option will delete the currently
  414.  highlighted file from the compressed
  415.  file. You will be asked to verify the
  416.  delete before the delete is actually
  417.  done.
  418.  
  419. *e  !!extract one file!!
  420.  This option will extract the currently
  421.  highlighted file onto the default disk
  422.  drive and directory, or the
  423.  DISK:\DIRECTORY that was specified via
  424.  the ALT-P command.
  425.  
  426. *f      !!freshen!!
  427.  Using this option you can specify the
  428.  file(s) you wish to FRESHEN in the
  429.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  430.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  431.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  432.  extensions.
  433.  
  434. *f10  !!to-dos!!
  435.  This option will temporarily exit to
  436.  DOS. You may then execute any DOS
  437.  command.  To return to SHEZ
  438.  enter EXIT at the DOS prompt and press
  439.  the return key.
  440.  
  441. *af10  !!to-dos to extract_path!!
  442.  This option will temporarily exit to
  443.  DOS and will drop you into the extract
  444.  directory. You may then execute any DOS
  445.  command.  To return to SHEZ enter EXIT
  446.  at the DOS prompt and press the return key.
  447.  
  448. *f2    !!switch_arc!!!
  449.  This option prompts for a new DRIVE:\PATH to
  450.  change to.  You may also specify a filename
  451.  and file extension if you wish. Wild cards
  452.  in the name and extension are allowed. IF
  453.  YOU ENTER A FILENAME OF $ AND A FILE
  454.  EXTENSION OF $ SHEZ WILL DISPLAY ONLY THE
  455.  ARCHIVE FILES THAT ARE FOUND IN THE
  456.  SPECIFIED DIRECTORY.
  457.  I.E. C:\WORK\$.$
  458.  You can also pop-up a directory tree window
  459.  by press the F9 key. When the tree appears
  460.  you may press the letters C-Z to obtain a
  461.  directory tree of a different drive. You may
  462.  also enter a DRIVE LETTER FOLLOWED BY A
  463.  COLON, before pressing the the F9 key.
  464.  
  465. *f8  !!edit!!
  466.  This option will allow you to edit a
  467.  file in the compressed file.  This
  468.  option will only work if you specified
  469.  an editor to use when you configured
  470.  compressedPER.
  471.  
  472. *f9    !!!get_sort!!!
  473.  Using this option you can specify how
  474.  you want the compressed files sorted on
  475.  the screen. They can be sorted by Name,
  476.  Extension, or Date.
  477.  
  478. *fact  !!!compression factor!!!
  479.  This option will allow you to set the
  480.  compression method used by the PKZIP or ARJ
  481.  programs.  When you set the compression
  482.  method, it will remain in effect until you
  483.  change it again.
  484.  
  485.  
  486. *g  !!password!!
  487.  This option allows you to specify the password
  488.  to be used by the compression program.  If the
  489.  compression program does not support passwords
  490.  an error window will appear informing you that
  491.  the option is not supported.
  492.  
  493. *i  !!show info!!
  494.  This option will show information about
  495.  the compressed file. I.E. Number of
  496.  files in file, total size of all files,
  497.  time and date of compressed file, etc.
  498.  
  499. *m     !!mode!!
  500.  Using this option you can specify the
  501.  file(s) you wish to MOVE into to the
  502.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  503.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  504.  cards are allowed for filenames and
  505.  extensions.
  506.  
  507. *o !!toggle overwrite!!
  508.  This option toggles overwrite mode. When
  509.  overwrite mode is active the letter "O"
  510.  will appear in the upper right corner of
  511.  the compressed display heading line.
  512.  When overwrite is active the uncompress
  513.  pgm will not ask you if you wish to
  514.  overwrite a pre-existing file when you
  515.  extract a file from the compressed file.
  516.  
  517. *p  !!path options!!
  518.  This option allows you to specify if you
  519.  want to save and/or use path information
  520.  when working with compressed files.
  521.  
  522. *q  !!immediate exit!!
  523.  This option will immediately exit
  524.  SHEZ.
  525.  
  526. *r  !!run a file!!
  527.  This option will extract and run the
  528.  highlighted EXE or COM file.  You will be
  529.  prompted to enter the optional command line
  530.  parameters that the program may need.  When
  531.  the program ends the extracted file will be
  532.  deleted.
  533.  
  534. *s  !!add/update file comments!!
  535.  This option allows you to add and or
  536.  update the comment records associated
  537.  with the currently highlighted file.
  538.  
  539. *sfts  !!add/update file comments!!
  540.  This option allows you to add and or
  541.  update the comment records assocaited
  542.  with each file in the compressed file.
  543.  
  544. *t  !!test compressed!!
  545.  This option will test the integrity of
  546.  the compressed file.
  547.  
  548. *u       !!update!!
  549.  Using this option you can specify the
  550.  file(s) you wish to UPDATE in the
  551.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  552.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  553.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  554.  extensions.
  555.  
  556. *v  !!view!!
  557.  This option will allow you to view the
  558.  contents of a file in the compressed
  559.  file.  The LIST.COM program will be used
  560.  to view the file.
  561.  
  562. *z  !!mask!!
  563.  This option allows you to specify a file
  564.  mask to be used when displaying the
  565.  contents of a compressed file.  For
  566.  example if you specify a mask of *.C
  567.  only the files having an extension of C
  568.  will be displayed on the screen.
  569.  
  570. *maltd !!view 4dos!!
  571.  This option will display the 4DOS or
  572.  NDOS file descriptions that are
  573.  maintained by the DESCRIBE command.
  574.  SHEZ can only handle a description
  575.  file that is 30,000 bytes or less.
  576.  
  577. *mtab !!open second file window!!
  578.  When the DOS directory window is
  579.  displayed, pressing the TAB key will
  580.  open a secondary directory display
  581.  window.  You may view other directories
  582.  and/or drives while this window is
  583.  open.  Pressing the TAB key again is
  584.  the only way to close the secondary
  585.  display window.
  586.  
  587. *malte !!edit highlighted file!!
  588.  This option will invoke the editor that
  589.  you specified when you configured SHEZ.
  590.  The highlighted file will be passed to
  591.  the editor.
  592.  
  593. *mcf4 !!delete tagged files!!
  594.  This option will delete all files that
  595.  have been tagged in the file window.
  596.  After all the files are deleted the file
  597.  window will be refreshed.

  599. *mf3  !!view file!!
  600.  This option allows you to view the
  601.  highlighted file.
  602.  
  603. *mf4  !!delete file/dir!!
  604.  This option allows you to delete the
  605.  highlighted file/dir.  You will be
  606.  prompted to verify the delete.
  607.  
  608. *mf5  !!file stats!!
  609.  This option will display the highlighted
  610.  file's time,date,and size.
  611.  
  612. *mf6  !!toggle $.$ *.*!!
  613.  This option will toggle the DOS files to
  614.  display between the $.$ specification
  615.  and the *.* specification.
  616.  
  617. *mf9  !!file sort!!
  618.  This option will sort the file list by
  619.  File name, File extension, or File date,
  620.  depending on how you reply to the sort
  621.  prompt. Enter a N, E, or D.
  622.  
  623. *mf8  !!make sfx files!!
  624.  F8 will make a self extracting file from
  625.  the highlighted file.
  626.  SHIFT-F8 will make self extracting files
  627.  from all tagged files.
  628.  (ONLY ZIP,LZH,PAK, and SDN files are
  629.  currently supported)

  631. *altb  !!browse a file!!
  632.  This option allows you to enter the name
  633.  of a file you wish to view.  The
  634.  user specified Browse program, that was
  635.  set during configuration, will be
  636.  use to Browse the specified file.
  637.  
  638. *malt-c  !!add/update file comments!!
  639.  This option allows you to add and or update
  640.  file comment records in all tagged
  641.  compressed files. You will be prompted for a
  642.  data file that contains the comment
  643.  record(s) you wish to add.
  644.  
  645. *malt-v  !!convert one file!!
  646.  This option will convert the highlighted
  647.  archive file from one format archive to
  648.  another format archive. You will be
  649.  asked if you want to delete the original
  650.  archive file after the conversion is
  651.  complete.
  652.  
  653. *mctl-v  !!convert tagged!!
  654.  This option will convert all tagged
  655.  archive file(s) from one format archive
  656.  to another format archive. You will be
  657.  asked if you want to delete the original
