  4.     HOW TO ASSIGN RECORDS TO A SALESREP IN THE START FIELD (583)

  7.      If you currently have records in a database that you need to assign toì
  8. a particular sales rep, you can use the following Group Replace.  
  9.  
  10. Please note:  It is always a good idea to have a good current backup ofì
  11. your data before performing a Group Replace.  You may want to setup aì
  12. filter for one record only before changing a group of records in yourì
  13. database.               
  14.  
  15.      First, you will need to setup a filter to select the records you wishì
  16. to assign to a particular salesrep and put that filter in use.  From theì
  17. TeleMagic Main Menu, select.
  18.  
  19.     1.  "O" for Other Options
  20.     2.  "D" for Database Utilities
  21.     3.  "R" for Replace in Filtered Records
  22.  
  23.     4.  At the "Change this database field:" prompt, touch F-2 to bring up
  24.         the Telemagic listbox and select the "Start" field by highlighting
  25.         and touching "enter."  (Press "enter" a second time)
  26.  
  27.     5.  At the "To look like this:" prompt, enter the following string:

  29.           &DTC(DATE())+" "+SUBS(TIME(),1,5)+" XXX"  (press enter)

  31.     (replace the XXX with the salesrep's initials that you wish to 
  32.     use) 
  33.  
  34.     6.  Press "Y" at the "Are you sure" prompt. (enter)
  35.  
  36.     7.  Output to "screen."

  38.      The date, time, and salesrep's initials will now be displayed in theì
  39. start field when you go back to view your records.
