1992 Developer's Competition
"Fire All Your Guns at Once!"
The files on this diskette give complete information about the 1992
Developer's Competition. They are being distributed to software
and database vendors, 3rd party developers, user groups and any
one else that can help publicize this event. You are free to
include these files in your newsletters, on bulletin boards, or to
distribute them in any way you choose. The file DevComp.Zip
contains all of these files in a format suitable for upload to a
BBS. The file should be named "1992 Developer's Competition"
This diskette includes the following files:

March92.txt Update of the event as of March (plus or minus a few
weeks), includes overview, current competitors and
sponsors.
soft92.txt Tentative list of topics for Software 92.
Applicnt.txt 1992 Developer's Competition Application Form.
***NOW AVAILABLE***, and officially accepting
applications.

Overview.txt Overview of the event, What is it? Why should I
compete? How to Register?
BBS.txt Notice about the competition suitable for posting
on a bulletin board.
UserGrp.txt How a user group can host a "feeder" event, or
"mini" competition. We hope to have at least 10
user groups conduct their own local developer
competitions and send the winner(s) to the national
competition.
News.txt Information about the competition suitable for
insertion in a user group newsletter, a database
publication, or a database vendor's newsletter.
Sponinfo.txt Benefits and reasons for sponsors to participate.
Regardless of whether you choose to help this event
by active participation, you should consider doing
whatever you can to see that teams that use your
products are competing in the competition. See
news.txt for other ideas on this.
Proceed.txt The Proceedings from the 1991 Developer's
Competition. This information is extremely helpful
and contains the following information: Databased
Advisor Article, Overview, Schedule of Events,
System Specification, Judge's Scoring Sheet, Rules,
Scoring, Prizes, Application Profile, Company
profiles of competitors, judges, press, and
sponsors, final rankings, tools used summary, and
evaluation results.
Survey.txt Results of the evaluation forms that were filled out
after the 1991 Developer's Competition. This should
help you to determine the quality of the event, and
to give you some ideas if you are considering
hosting a similar competition.
