  4. The files on this diskette give complete information about the 1992
  5. Developer's Competition.  They are being distributed to software
  6. and database vendors, 3rd party developers, user groups and any
  7. one else that can help publicize this event.  You are free to
  8. include these files in your newsletters, on bulletin boards, or to
  9. distribute them in any way you choose.  The file DevComp.Zip
  10. contains all of these files in a format suitable for upload to a
  11. BBS.  The file should be named "1992 Developer's Competition"

  17. March92.txt            Update of the event as of March (plus or minus a few
  18.                        weeks), includes overview, current competitors and
  19.                        sponsors.

  23. Applicnt.txt           1992 Developer's Competition Application Form.

  29. Overview.txt           Overview of the event, What is it?  Why should I
  30.                        compete?  How to Register?

  32. BBS.txt                Notice about the competition suitable for posting
  33.                        on a bulletin board.

  35. UserGrp.txt            How a user group can host a "feeder" event, or
  36.                        "mini" competition.  We hope to have at least 10
  37.                        user groups conduct their own local developer
  38.                        competitions and send the winner(s) to the national
  39.                        competition.

  41. News.txt               Information about the competition suitable for
  42.                        insertion in a user group newsletter, a database
  43.                        publication, or a database vendor's newsletter.

  45. Sponinfo.txt           Benefits and reasons for sponsors to participate. 
  46.                        Regardless of whether you choose to help this event
  47.                        by active participation, you should consider doing
  48.                        whatever you can to see that teams that use your
  49.                        products are competing in the competition.  See
  50.                        news.txt for other ideas on this.

  52. Proceed.txt            The Proceedings from the 1991 Developer's
  53.                        Competition.  This information is extremely helpful
  54.                        and contains the following information:  Databased
  55.                        Advisor Article, Overview, Schedule of Events,
  56.                        System Specification, Judge's Scoring Sheet, Rules,
  57.                        Scoring, Prizes, Application Profile, Company
  58.                        profiles of competitors, judges, press, and
  59.                        sponsors, final rankings, tools used summary, and
  60.                        evaluation results.

  62. Survey.txt             Results of the evaluation forms that were filled out
  63.                        after the 1991 Developer's Competition.  This should
  64.                        help you to determine the quality of the event, and
  65.                        to give you some ideas if you are considering
  66.                        hosting a similar competition.
