  1.                    THREE WILLOWS GOLF COURSE

  3. This golf course was designed for those who like hills &
  4. mountains. Very scenic with a lot of high views from
  5. different positions on the mountains that make up this
  6. course. The greens are large & slightly rolling, but not very
  7. difficult as some other courses that are designed by others
  8. (I have yet to play a green in real life that has extreme
  9. rolls to it as designed by some of the other course
  10. creators).  Golf is frustrating enough, without creating
  11. nightmare greens that test your patience. Instead I have
  12. tried to make getting to the green more of the challenge,
  13. rather than making the green the full test of the hole. This
  14. is a fair course. I've had good scores on this & bad scores.

  16. Notes:
  17. Hole 1:
  18.      Playing short offers a longer but easier approach shot.
  19. By driving long and slicing around the trees you might land
  20. on the hill approaching the green, making your 2nd shot
  21. possibly difficult by having to hit on the slant of the hill.

  23. Hole 2: You can't hit straight to the green, the trees
  24. prevent that. It's an easy 150 yards to the middle green,
  25. then a short 100-130 yards to the green.
  26.  
  27. Hole 4:
  28.      This par 5 offers 3 options on your drive. Playing
  29. straight for the middle fairway is diffcult. It takes a very
  30. strong shot (300+ yards) to get there. It's risky because of
  31. the distance & the bunkers that guard the edge of the
  32. fairway. But it could get you to the green in 2.
  33.      Playing left of the trees is the easier than right &
  34. offers the best birdie opportunity. After you jump the water
  35. on the left its around 200 yards to the top of the hill.

  37. Hole 5:
  38.      It's around 215-240 to the island. With no wind a 3 or
  39. 4 wood is good. The island is larger than it looks so dont be
  40. intimidated by it. I've yet to go in the water.

  42. Hole 6: It's a good 230-260 to jump the water. From the pro
  43. tees, you need at LEAST a Driver. By driving the ball to the
  44. right slightly (don't hit the trees) you can set up a wedge
  45. shot to the green.

  47. Hole 10: The "Shute" is a very tempting area, but even if
  48. your drive is precise & you reach granite part of the hill,
  49. your ball will not go all the way to the green. You might set
  50. up a close wedge shot but you wont make the green in 1.
  51. Playing the normal fairway offers the best play & reasonable
  52. birdie chances.

  54. Hole 12:
  55.      It's around 210-235 yards to the island from the top of
  56. the hill. Once again the island is large & hard to miss.

  58. Hole 13:
  59.      It's 210-220 to the top of hill & best placement for
  60. your approach shot.

  62. Hole 16: This 2-tier green might be tough if the pin
  63. placement is in the middle, that's where the slope is.
  64.  
  65. Hole 17: An incredibly HUGE green makes it tempting to try to
  66. reach the green in 1. But that will only place you at the
  67. front looking at a possible 100 to 150 foot putt. So you
  68. might wind up 3 putting this hole anyway. Your best birdle
  69. chance comes from playing just short of the green.

  71. Hole 18:
  72.      If you can reach the top of the mountain you could make
  73. the green in 2. For pros its extremely tough because of the
  74. distance & the narrow opening to get there. The Men's &
  75. Ladies tees offer a better chance but its still risky.

  77. I have put a lot of time & effort into this course & have
  78. tested it over & over making the right changes as I saw fit.
  79. I think it's as good as others out there. I didnt design this
  80. just to be challenging but also to be visually pleasing too.
