  16. Specific examples include:
  17.         (1) We noticed that memory for the OKIdata laser
  18.             printer was over-priced. We worked with a
  19.             reputable Canadian manufacturer to resolve this.
  20.             RESULT: we can add 2 Meg for under $200 (installed)
  21.                     (versus $310-400 from other sources)

  23.         (2) We noticed that the sophisticated modem/BBS users
  24.             were getting a raw deal on high speed UARTs
  25.             (especially for use on COM1)
  26.             Using a chipset called 16550, your high speed modem
  27.             can run reliably at speeds over 9600  baud.
  28.             RESULT: we have a Canadian-built I/O card with the
  29.             equivalent of TWO 16550A chipsets, plus one
  30.             parallel port. The serial ports on this card can be
  31.             run as RS-232 or RS-422. (all with one VLSI chip)
  32.             For the astute user, the ports can be re-configured
  33.             to be null modems, etc using the jumpers.
  34.             All this for under $100.
  35.             (a good quality I/O card with 16550 chips is $140+)

  37.         (3) We noticed some dealers push a particular system.
  38.             This may make things simpler for them, but lowers
  39.             the options for the end-user.
  40.             RESULT: we have our 'best of breed' supplier, but we
  41.             will custom configure systems to your needs to get you
  42.             the best deal.  There will always be the cut-throat
  43.             clone suppliers who can beat our price, but not the
  44.             same quality.  We will also setup the system and
  45.             ensure you are comnfortable with it.
