1 - cup almonds, lightly toasted

Melt margarine in a Dutch oven. Stir in sugar until blended.
Stir in almonds, raisins and cinnamon. Gradually, stir in pineapple

Vanilla ice cream
Cold milk
Hubba Bubba Bubble Gum Soda
For each child, you will need a balloon shaped glass, a 14"
square of white plastic, a 12" piece of orange yarn, black
marker and straw. Have the children draw ghostly grins on the
white plastic square with the black marker.
Place a small scoop of ice cream in the glass. Top with 1/2
cup cold milk. Top with soda. Fill all the glasses, then refill
with soda as the bubbles subside.
Place the plastic square on the top of the glass, gather the
bottom and tie with orange yarn. Make a snip in the top of the
plastic to insert the straw. The ghostly glug is ready to slurp.
Hint: If you wet the plastic, it will adhere to the glass, making
it easier to tie with yarn.

Reserve 4 berries for garnish. Hull and slice remaining berries.
In a blender, blend berries until smooth. They will make about 1

peel. Blend until smooth. Garnish each serving with lemon peel
and while strawberry on straw. Makes 4 - 8 oz servings.

Chill a tall 10 to 12 oz glass in freezer. Turn glass upside
down on small amount of orange flavored gelatin to coat rim;
return to freezer.
In a blender, combine orange juice, tangerine or orange segments
yogurt and gelatin; blend until smooth. Pour into prepared glass.
Garnish with additional citrus segments and mint leaves. Makes 1
9 oz serving.

Serves 10 to 12.
Fruited Ice Ring: Arrange whole cherries and orange slices in
bottom of ring mold. Pour in just enough water to cover fruit.
Freeze until firm. Add cold water to fill mold. Freeze until firm.

1- qt cranberry juice
1- qt orange juice
12-15 cloves
12-15 whole allspice
12-15 stick cinnamon
Combine apple cider, cranberry juice, orange juice in a gallon container.
Place cloves, allspice, 4 sticks cinnamon in basket of 8-10 cup electric
percolator. Be sure both basket and percolator are cleaned of coffee taste.
Pour cider-juice mixture into percolator until desired number of cups is
reached. Insert basket and turn on percolator.
When percolating is finished, pour beverage in cups and add 1 stick
cinnamon per cup. Note: if you wish it to be alcoholic, add dark rum or brandy
or apple schnapps as desired.

In each of four 6 oz microwave safe mugs, place 1 Tbsp raisins,
1 Tbsp rum, an apple slice, a cinnamon stick and a dash of cloves.
Pour 3/4 cup cranberry drink into each mug. Place mugs in center of
microwave oven. Micro cook, uncovered, on 100% (HIGH) for 6 to 8 minutes
or just until mixture starts to boil. Cook on 50% (MEDIUM) for 1 to 2
minutes more. Cool slightly before serving. Makes 4 - 6 oz servings.

Beat egg yolks and 2 Tbsp of the sugar until lemon colored.
Beat egg white until stiff. Add remaining 2 Tbsp sugar slowly,
beating constantly.
Pour scalded milk slowly over egg yolks, stirring constantly.
Stir milk into egg whites. Add extract and salt. If desired, garnish
with whipped cream and freshly grated nutmeg. Serves 4 to 5.

To prepare pineapple, cut off stem and crown ends. Cut off rind
all around, from top to bottom; remove eyes with pointed knife.
Cut into lengthwise quarters. Cut away core and cut into chunks.
Place strawberries and 1 cup pineapple in large bowl; sprinkle
with sugar. Let stand until ready to use. Divide fruit among 4
large glasses. Add 1/2 cup sherbet to each glass, then pour 1 cup
ginger ale into each glass. Serve immediately. Makes 4 servings.

1 - bottle Hires Extract *
4 - lb refined sugar
4 3/4 - gallons lukewarm water
1/2 - tsp dried (or 1/2 cake) yeast
Pour extract over sugar. Mix well. Dissolve mixture in lukewarm
water. Mix yeast in additional pint lukewarm water. Allow to stand
5 minutes. Stir well; strain through cheesecloth. Add yeast mixture
to extract mixture. Mix well; immediately, pour into sterilized
bottles to within 1/2" of top. Cork bottles securely or seal with
crown.
Place bottles on their sides in warm place, 70 to 80 degrees until
effervescent. Product should be ready to drink in about 5 days.
Store in cool place. Refrigerate just before serving. Beverage will
have a slight yeast flavor and contain some sediment. Do not filter.
