INC Proudly Presents
The Most Awaited Patch of 1992
The Ultima 7 Doc Check Quick Patch
Written and Designed by
Null Set and Bit-Manipulator
So, you've just gotten INC's release of Ultima 7, played for about an hour and
find yourself stuck at a nasty doc check in the very first town? Well no
problem! INC is to the rescue! Just use U7QPAT on your saved game and you are
in business.
The protection: When you start the game, you begin in the town of Trinsic. The
mayor of the town asks you to solve a murder that has just been committed in
the town. After gathering enough info about the murder, you report to the
mayor and he agrees that your investigation should continue in another town.
The catch is that you cannot leave Trinsic unless you tell one of the gate
guards the password - and the Mayor tells you the password. When you ask the
Mayor for the password, he doubts your credentials and asks you the doc check.
When this happens, just save your game, exit to DOS, run U7QPAT (which simply
patches your saved game to say "I've talked to the Mayor and answered his
doc check correctly) and you're set to run un-inhibited with that saved game!
For those of you wondering what the password is, when you talk to a gate guard,
the password will be one of your options when talking to him (Blackbird).
How it works: The saved game files are collections of serveral other files,
which get stored in a sort of random way. What U7QPAT does is search for a
special file in the saved game and patch that "subfile".
Thanks to: Lestat - thanks for getting us the game so quickly
The Cracksmith - for the help with the docs (hope ya feel better)
Greets out to: Line Noise, Cool Hand, Night Ranger, Jenetic Bytemare,
Bad Ass, The Undefined Being, Centurian, American Gladiator,
The Specialist (got OS/2 yet - I want it :), Jake Pickett,
and all of my INC brothers around the globe!
See you in our next project!
