  19. REQUIREMENTS
  20.  
  21.         IBM PC or compatible (10 Mhz AT or greater is highly recommended)
  22.         DOS 3.3 or greater.
  23.         VGA or EGA monitor
  24.         512k ram
  25.         Hard Disk (with at least 1.2 meg free disk space)
  26.  
  27. CONFIG SYS CHANGES
  28.  
  29.         You need to have at least 60 file handles and 15 buffers for
  30.         On Schedule to work correctly. This is done by putting the
  31.         following 2 lines in your config.sys file :
  32.  
  33.                 FILES=60
  34.                 BUFFERS=15
  35.  
  36.         If you are running On Schedule on a network (your mom always told
  37.         you to share, didn't she?) your shell.cfg file should also have
  38.         the following statement :

  40.                 FILES HANDLES=60

  43. ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES

  45.         You need to issue the following statement before you attempt to
  46.         run On Schedule (preferably you would put this in your
  47.         autoexec.bat file) :

  53. GETTING STARTED
  54.  
  55.     Installation.
  56.  
  57.         (1) Make a directory on your hard disk drive.
  58.         (2) Copy the files from the diskette to the directory you have created.
  59.         (3) Change to that directory.
  60.         (4) Type OS21S at the DOS prompt.  This will unzip into the On Schedule
  61.             program (OS.EXE), this readme file, and several data files.
  62.         (5) You may delete the OS21S.EXE file from your hard drive if you wish.

  64.     Up and running.
  65.  
  66.         To run On Schedule all you need to do is type "OS" at the DOS
  67.         prompt. You will be prompted to enter your first and last name.
  68.         This is so On Schedule can set you up as an administrator. Being
  69.         an administrator will give you certain rights to do things in
  70.         the On Schedule program that others won't have.
  71.  
  72.         On Schedule will begin by creating several data and index files.
  73.         After these files have been created you will see the On Schedule
  74.         login screen and be prompted for a user name. Your user name is
  75.         what you entered as your first name. Type it in and press
  76.         RETURN. Next you will be prompted for a password. Your password
  77.         is what you entered as your last name. Type it in and press
  78.         RETURN.  After a brief wait you will see the main screen of On
  79.         Schedule. You are ready to go.

  82.     Other important info.
  83.  
  84.         At this point you should access the setup menu by pressing the
  85.         "S" key. Then use the down arrow key to move down to the menu
  86.         option "DEFAULTS" and press return. This will bring up the
  87.         personal defaults screen.  Take a moment to look at it.  Now use
  88.         your down arrow key to cursor down to the "PASSWORD" option and
  89.         press return. Change the password to something no one else will
  90.         be able to guess. The next time you log in to On Schedule you
  91.         will use the new user name and password which you have just
  92.         entered.

  94.         Take some time to just browse through the many On Schedule
  95.         options and menus and look at the context sensitive help screens
  96.         (by pressing the F1 key). The Administration menu can be accessed
  97.         by pressing Alt-A.  Be sure to read the manual that comes with
  98.         your registered version of On Schedule.

  100. HOW TO ORDER
  101.  
  102.         You may order On Schedule by pressing Alt-O when you are at the
  103.         main screen.  Once you have completed the order form, (all
  104.         information must be entered before you will be allowed to exit)
  105.         you will be asked if you want to print it now.  If you answer no
  106.         to this question, the information you typed in will not be saved
  107.         for later use.

  113. MORE IMPORTANT INFO

  115.         The ClipTech BBS offers several valuable services to anyone who
  116.         wishes to uses it, and in particular to registered On Schedule
  117.         users.  It will be put into operation in March of 1992.
  118.  
  119.         Some of the services that can be found on the ClipTech BBS are :
  120.             (1) technical support for our products.
  121.             (2) user feedback forums.
  122.             (3) a small collection of top quality shareware programs.
  123.             (4) product demos (not just ours).
  124.             (5) clipper programmer's forum
  125.  
  126.         Shareware versions of On Schedule have a timer built in to them so
  127.         that they will display a message at the turn of a new year. This
  128.         message simply asks you to download the latest version of On Schedule
  129.         from the ClipTech BBS.  The purpose of this message is not to limit
  130.         the shareware version in any way, but to ensure that you can evaluate
  131.         any new features that may have been added.

  133.         If you happen to have gotten a version that displays this message,
  134.         please leave a note to the ClipTech SYSOP telling him where you got
  135.         it and the BBS phone number.  This is so we can get in contact with
  136.         them and get the newest release to them.

  138.         You will always be able to download the most current shareware version
  139.         of On Schedule from Compuserve, Delphi, GEnie, EXEC-PC, Chanel 1, and
  140.         the ClipTech BBS

  143. SHAREWARE EVALUATION VERSION DISTRIBUTION POLICIES

  145.         The On Schedule Program is protected by United States Copyright
  146.         Laws. As such you are prohibited from copying said Program
  147.         except as permitted pursuant to your License Agreement.

  149.         Notwithstanding the above, Licensee may copy and freely
  150.         distribute the On Schedule program either commercially or
  151.         privately, provided the following provisions for the On Schedule
  152.         program are met:

  157.                 except for a nominal reproduction and distribution fee,
