Other Custom Options:
==============
OPTION 1:
==============
1) Toggle Initial 'exploding greeting' On/Off:
The first time you bring up the program, a message appears:
"Paul Sax Presents"
If you wish to toggle this 'exploding greeting' On, then press option 1 ì
until you see:
[now On ]
==============
OPTION 2:
==============
2) Assign and output Condense string for printer:
At this option, you can output an ASCII character or character set directly ì
to your printer for the purpose of Compressing the print.
The embedded Help screen will show you the format that you must use for the ì
program to properly interpret your request and contains ASCII and printer ì
tables. The ASCII tables will show you how to cross reference a ì
'Character' value with its corresponding 'Decimal' or 'Hex' value.
==============
OPTION 3:
==============
3) Assign and output Uncondense string for printer:
At option 3, you can output an ASCII character or character set directly to ì
your printer for the purpose of Uncompressing the print.
The embedded Help screen will show you the format that you must use for the ì
program to properly interpret your request and contains ASCII and printer ì
tables. The ASCII tables will show you how to cross reference a ì
'Character' value with its corresponding 'Decimal' or 'Hex' value.
==============è | OPTION 4: |
==============
4) Optional Pre-select, 'All Scheduled Activities'
[used when 'All Scheduled Activities' are On from the prior menu]
If, on the prior menu, you wish to be shown 'All Scheduled Activities', ì
then this option gives you the additional flexibility of being prompted ì
every time as to whether you wish to be shown all other activities that are ì
occurring on that day.
==============
OPTION 5:
==============
5) Delete historical Activity records
This selection gives you the ability to delete any group of activity ì
records by their original date of entry into the program. Once in option ì
5, you select the date range of your requested deletion.
The activity file was intentionally designed as a 'perpetual' file, where ì
all records are maintained and no effort is made to differentiate current ì
from historical records. By contrast, an accounting system uses 'periodic' ì
files, where a typical program will distinguish between records from the ì
current operating period and those that are historical. All historical ì
records in a 'periodic' system, then, will be summarized and purged.
For those situations with this program where a high frequency of activity ì
records has the effect of being used in a 'period' and then having no real ì
value after that period and where the constraints of disk storage mandate ì
that your remove all 'historical' activity records, then use this ì
selection.
Do not continue until you have first backed up the data. This procedure ì
is irrevocable.
==============
OPTION 6:
==============
6) Play 'America the Beautiful' right now
America the Beautiful, by Larry Bauder, Vancouver, B.C.
Scored for the computer by Katherine Lee Bates & Samuel A. Ward
[used with written permission of Larry Bauder]
==============è | OPTION 7: |
==============
7) Play 'America the Beautiful' upon boot-up
If you wish to toggle this 'America the Beautiful' On, then press option 7 ì
until you see:
[now On ]
==============
OPTION 8:
==============
"8) Set 'DATE_SYS' update logic: Client Get"
With this feature, you will observe these three selections on the far right ì
as you press the '8' key repeatedly on your keyboard:
"[Update logic disabled ]"
"[Prompt you for update ]"
"[Always update DATE_SYS]"
If you recall the Client Get screen, on the upper left corner is the date. ì
This conveys when the record was entered into the program for the first ì
time. Internally, the date is called 'DATE_SYS'. This selection will ì
update 'DATE_SYS' with the current date once this selection is activated, ì
subject to one of two events occurring:
1) You invoke the Client Memo from the Client Get screen.
2) After selecting 'M' for more commands, you then pick option 'E' to Edit.
==============
OPTION 9:
==============
"9) Toggle 'sounds like' search on Client Get"
By default, this selection is set "[now On ]". When you are at the Client ì
Get screen, search option, the logic for "Searching for phonetical match" ì
is available in three 'views' or searches: Company, first, and last name.
While searching in one of those three modes, the program displays this ì
message:
"Searching for phonetical match"
è
==============
OPTION A:
==============
"A) Global replace of Billing Class, all records"

in the Client file. If you have a category selected now, then only those ì
records in that category will be updated.

In this option, you enter the default Billing Class that you wish to be ì
present in every new record that you add.
==============
OPTION C:
==============
"C) AM/PM conversion"
By default, the program will print the time of the next Appointment in the ì
activity record in a 12 hour AM/PM report in the reports and displays. If ì
option C is set "Off", then the appointment time will print in a 24 hour ì
format.
==============
OPTION D:

With this selection, you can reduce the size of the zip code file by making ì
it specific to a state or a number of states.
Once selected, you can indicate the number of states you wish to be ì
included in your new zip code file. If you wish only one, then you would ì
enter '1', though you could enter up to '50'.
==============
