  24. runs the TIPSHOP and requested to
  25. reprint these tips, he agreed as long
  26. as I made reference to where they
  27. came from and left the tipsters names

  30. Tips...
  31.  
  32. When starting the game always start
  33. at 3 (Nugget city) as this gives you
  34. best options when leaving)
  35.  
  36. When you enter a city or about to
  37. leave always go to the Telegraph
  38. Office (4). You need to know where
  39. Charles A Siringo is...Always go in
  40. the opposite direction of where he
  41. is. Doesn't always work but 90/100
  42. times he won't catch you. Don't go to
  43. that office if you have more than
  44. $100 dollars as the guy will try and
  45. charge you $61...

  47. You are actually best to go to the
  48. telegraph office first as the rewards
  49. may go up if the wild bunch have done
  50. a robbery.
  51.  
  52. Always go to the bar and have 1 beer
  53. and 1 redeye, no more, as you will
  54. lose health.
  55.  
  56. Always visit the Sheriffs office and
  57. jot down the name and description.
  58.  
  59. Then go straight to the bar and look
  60. around (can only do this once per
  61. town) and if the description matches
  62. and you have a gun (don't go and look
  63. around if you don't have a
  64. gun(they'll run off)). If you take
  65. them in, you'll never complete the
  66. game, they always escape and you
  67. don't get the picture and name of
  68. your killer. If you've got
  69. bullets...take them to the street. If
  70. you have sound listen to the music as
  71. they tend to draw on the end of the
  72. third phase of music. If the
  73. description doesn't match.. have a
  74. guess and take them to the sheriffs
  75. office (choice 1). If you get it
  76. wrong he will fine you 10% of the
  77. money you have so best not to have
  78. too much...

  80. If you find the bloke you are looking
  81. for take him in.. don't shoot him as
  82. he can't prove your innocence If you
  83. get it right...buy supplies.
  84.  
  85. When buying supplies always buy a
  86. horse and saddle...don't just buy the
  87. horse as you still take twice as long
  88. with out a saddle.. Buy more food for
  89. you and less for the horse...
  90.  
  91. If you go across the mountains, buy a
  92. Great coat AND a blanket.
  93.  
  94. If you go across the desert, buy
  95. twice as much water plus two.. as the
  96. horse drinks water and you are
  97. guaranteed to get caught in a
  98. sandstorm.

  100. If you can't afford to buy a
  101. horse...get just enough food for you
  102. plus one and walk to nearest safe
  103. city.
  104.  
  105. On the travel from city to city.....
  106. If you have a horse and saddle...run
  107. from everything.. on average you save
  108. a lot of energy.

  110. If you don't have a horse...fight
  111. everything unless you have the money
  112. to bribe...

  114. When fighting use at least 20 more
  115. energy points than needed.. otherwise
  116. they get upset or annoyed..

  118. If you do upset or annoy them use
  119. more than you used before otherwise
  120. they might nick your gun.

  122. Playing poker...

  125. If you have a royal flush
  126. (10,jack,queen,king and ace of
  127. spades)...
  128. Either raise the bid a little of call
  129. his bet.. keep doing this until he
  130. either sees you or you cant afford to
  131. make a bid.. be careful if the bid is
  132. more than you've got you lose the
  133. money you put in..

  135. If you have four 3's of four 2's
  136. Call his bet a couple of times and
  137. then see him...don't gamble too much
  138. as the dealer gets a lot of royal
  139. flushes.

  141. Full house's ... call his bet once
  142. and then see him.. don't risk it...

  144. Straights...and three of a kind...
  145. See him straight away...don't gamble.

  147. All other hands throw a way.. when
  148. you get them.

  154. Cheat modes When out of town and
  155. fighting, you will be asked "you have
  156. **** strength, how much will you
  157. use?". At this point, enter
  158. "10-10000". The enemy will be
  159. annoyed, but when you are asked
  160. again, you will now have an extra
  161. 9990 energy. This number can be
  162. higher or lower if you wish, but not
  163. too high or your energy will be
  164. expressed in letters as well as
  165. numbers.

  171. Thanks to the recent advances in
  172. emulation, we are able to do things
  173. not possible before on the Speccy 48k
  174. with 'The Wild Bunch'.
  175.  
  176. I know that it (the first tip) is
  177. blatant cheating, but, here are some
  178. tips on how to make it a little
  179. easier.
  180.  
  181. When you apprehend a member of the
  182. bunch, during the gunfights, slow the
  183. emulation RIGHT DOWN to like, 50% and
  184. watch the fight. Probably now would
  185. be a good time to disappear and make
  186. a coffee :) You'll have enough time.
  187.  
  188. When he goes for his gun, shoot him
  189. in slow motion. Ha. An easy reward,
  190. and there's no chance of him breaking
  191. out of jail. However, I do like doing
  192. the following - arrest them and take
  193. them in providing that they don't
  194. escape), then after they escape from
  195. jail (and you hear about it from the
  196. telegraphs office - also, because he
  197. has escaped, the reward goes UP), go
  198. and find the guy in some bar, and
  199. offer him a gunfight. Because the
  200. program can't 'refuse' a gunfight,
  201. you get to shoot the guy and claim a
  202. reward twice over :)

  204. Playing poker - the gambler will not
  205. play with you at around $120. So,
  206. make your money (and cane him on the
  207. royal flushes), go and buy some food
  208. or something from the store (to take
  209. your money down to $119) and go back
  210. to clean him out again.
  211.  
  212. This is cheating a bit too - using
  213. the SNA (snapshot) function of the
  214. emulator. When you arrive in a new
  215. town, the wanted poster will be
  216. different each time. Before you leave
  217. the first town for the first time,
  218. save a snapshot. Now, go to the town
  219. and look at the poster (you now
  220. should have descriptions for two wild
  221. bunch members). Keep doing this until
  222. you have all of them, leave the first
  223. town (with all that knowledge) and go
  224. on your hunt.

  226. And remember - don't shoot the one
  227. you actually want. I did this and was
  228. unable to prove I was innocent :)

  230. Repeat ad infinitum until you have
  231. everything you need from the store
  232. and a heap of 'free' money.

  234. If you don't like the price that the
  235. telegraphs office charges you, leave
  236. and then go back. Repeat until you
  237. get a price that you like :)
