  11. Today we can call all these platforms
  12. for Amiga. Amiga is no longer tied to
  13. the 68k family. It's split into
  14. different colours In the early birth
  15. of these 2 PowerPC operating systems,
  16. there was and is still a small colour
  17. war between red and blue side of the
  18. camps.

  20. So, who is who?

  22. Red - Classic Amiga + AmigaOS 4
  23. Blue - MorphOS
  24. Black - AROS

  26. What's the difference?

  28. AmigaOS 3.x: Red

  30. Info: Intuition as main GUI. Option
  31. for MUI3.8 etc.
  32. Hardware: Amiga 500 to Amiga 4000.
  33. You can upgrade these classic Amiga
  34. machines with PPC and get PPC support
  35. through WarpOS or PowerUP. You can
  36. also buy PCI upgrading kits at Elbox
  37. today. Giving classic Amiga computers
  38. access to PCI graphic cards, sound
  39. cards and Ethernet cards etc.

  41. Classic Amiga a lot. Mainly done as a
  42. hobby thing.

  45. note: If you have an Amiga with AGA.
  46. You should get whdload. This makes it
  47. easy to run games from your HD.

  49. want full 68k compatibility in all
  50. directions.

  57. PPC, Eyetech AmigaOne and MicroA1,

  75. More info: MorphOS runs fine on
  76. Classic Amiga and on Efika. You need
  77. at least 64MB of RAM to make it run
  78. and be useful. When using Efika etc.
  79. Your limited to 91MB Free RAM after
  80. boot. You can still use MorphOS for
  81. lots of stuff like surfing, irc, ftp
  82. and gaming!

  112. you need to have AMIGA ROMS and
  113. AmigaOS system for it. the work for
  114. an AROS kickstart and compatible free
  115. ROM has been started by Greg "bheron"
  116. casamento some time ago. This 68k
  117. compatibility is not the same as on
  118. AmigaOS 4 or on MorphOS
