  9. Thank you for trying LetItRide.  LetItRide is a stud poker game 
  10. for the Palm Pilot that has basically the same rules as the Let It Ride
  11. game that is played in many casinos.
  12.  
  13. By playing the game on your Pilot, you can quickly try a number of betting
  14. strategies, and perhaps you can learn to play better and win a few bucks 
  15. next time you go to the casino.  If you do please remember who provided 
  16. this learning aid for you ;-)

  18. The initial bankroll provided by this program is $500.  If you run out
  19. of money, you will need to register the program in order to be able to
  20. "buy" additional chips and continue playing the game.  The registration fee
  21. is just $5.00.  A small sum for all the enjoyment you will get from this
  22. game!

  31. How to Play

  34. The screen for the game is divided as follows:

  50. The ante amount can be changed by selecting inside the Ante area.  Valid
  51. ante amounts are $5 to $25 in increments of $5.  After selecting the ante
  52. amount, press the Deal button to start the game.
  53.  
  54. When the deal button is pressed, you start by wagering an amount equal to
  55. three times the ante amount.  However, you will have the opportunity to
  56. pull back up to two of the ante amounts if you don't like your cards.  Five
  57. cards are dealt, with three of the cards being exposed and the remaining
  58. two cards being covered.

  60. After the cards are dealt, the "Bet" and "Pull" buttons are displayed in the
  61. Play Buttons area.  If you like your cards, you may press the Bet button to
  62. leave your bet as is.  If you do not like your cards so far, you may press
  63. the Pull button to pull back one of your ante amounts.

  65. After either button is pressed, one of the covered cards is exposed, and the
  66. process repeats.  After both of the covered cards have been exposed, if the
  67. player has a pair of tens or better he is paid based on the amount of bet
  68. remaining and the payout odds, which are based on the final hand.

  82. Since a payout is guaranteed for a pair of tens or better, it is in your best 
  83. interest to leave the bet when you have a pair of tens or better showing, and
  84. to pull your bets back if you have a low possibility of finishing with a 
  85. paying hand.

  87. The Hint button in the upper right corner of the screen displays a window
  88. that provides the probabilities of various hands occurring.  It also
  89. calculates the player's probability of winning.  If the probability of a 
  90. player win is greater than 50 percent, then a "Bet" recommendation is made.  
  91. Otherwise, a "Pull" recommendation is made.  NOTE:  The probabilities are 
  92. in the range of 0 to 1.0, where 1.0 represents 100 percent probability of winning.

  120. To register by mail, please send a check or money order for $5(US). Make 
  121. check payable to Rose Software, and write "LetItRide" on the check.

  123. Please include your email address so that we can send you a registration
  124. code.  Your registration code will then need to be entered via the
  125. Register option in the pulldown menu in order to activate the ability
  126. to purchase additional chips and to be able to reset the statistics.

  128. Your inclusion of an e-mail address also allows me to notify you of updates
  129. and future products.  If you would not like this automatic notification,
  130. please let me know.  Your e-mail address will never be given or sold to any

  152. -------------

  154. Install LetItRide.prc using instapp.exe.
  155. instapp.exe can be found in your pilot directory. (ex.c:\pilot\instapp.exe)

  157. Alternately, this application can be installed via the Palm Desktop application.
  158. Go to the "Install" Icon under Palm Desktop, and then click "Add...".  This 
  159. will bring up a browse window which you can use to find LetItRide.prc.  Select
  160. LetItRide.prc, and the next time you do a HotSync, the application will be
  161. transferred to your Palm Pilot.
