  1. THE JULY PATCH LIST
  2.  
  3. Here are the game patches that appeared in Tom McDonald's Extended Play 
  4. column for June and July.
  5.  
  6. To install these patches, enter the \PATCH subdirectory on our demo disc. 
  7. You'll need to copy each patch into each games appropriate directory on 
  8. your hard drive. You'll need to have a version of PKUNZIP to unzip most
  9. of these patches. 
  10.  
  11. Alien Logic v.1.02 (ALIEN1.ZIP) -- Update corrects the Cleash General 
  12. "Null Jig Tokens" Crash, as well as adding command line switches for 
  13. many sound boards.
  14.  
  15. Colonization v.3.0 (COLV20.ZIP) -- Corrects various problems and adds the 
  16. map editor left out of the last patch.
  17.  
  18. Commanch Maximum Overkill (CMOM2G.EXE) -- Inclues a SPEEDLOCK option for
  19. fast 486 computers and pentium computers.
  20.  
  21. Fighter Wing 2.0 Floppy Version Upgrade (FW35.ZIP)
  22.  
  23. Front Lines v.1.02 (FLCDMD.EXE or FLFPMD.EXE) -- adds modem play, as well 
  24. as several other enhancements and bug fixes. (Separate patches for floppy 
  25. and CD-ROM.)

  27. Front Page Sports:Baseball v.1.02 (BB102.EXE) -- Fixes the roster-handling
  28. bugs.
  29.  
  30. Front Page Sports:Football Pro '95 v.1.02 (FBP95.EXE) -- Adds fans to the
  31. stands, enables the CD-ROM version of the game to access EXTRA plays from
  32. the CD and makes other enhancements.
  33.  
  34. Hammer of the Gods (HOGUPD.EXE) - Fixes mouse hangs, low memory issues
  35. and all known related problems.
  36.  
  37. HardBall 4 (HB4FIX.ZIP) -- Type "bh4 easy" when starting to disable the
  38. pitch recognition routine that allowed astronomical scores. The patch
  39. also includes support for the ATI Mach64 graphics card, updated drivers
  40. and drivers for 3 sound cards not supported in the original release of
  41. the game. Other support the patch provides is for the Orchid Soundwave
  42. 32, the Compaq Presario built-in audio card, and the Mozart 16.

  44. Harpoon 2 (H2UPGR.ZIP) -- The long-awaited major upgrade for H2 is ready!
  45. But the programmers didn't bother to include a list of just what it does.
  46. One of the features disables the 1/3 rule for air patrols, but the rest
  47. of the features are a mystery. Considering how long and hard the team
  48. worked on this, it should address a lot of complaints.
  49.  
  50. Hell PG-13 Patch (HTPG13.EXE) -- General maintenance, only for PG-13 
  51. version with all the naughty words bleeped.
  52.  
  53. High Seas Trader (HSTFL102.EXE or HSTCD102.EXE) -- Upgrade should address 
  54. any crashes associated with soundcards. (Separate patches for floppy and 
  55. CD-ROM.)
  56.  
  57. Legions for Windows Patch (LGNPAT.ZIP) -- allows the program to run under 
  58. Windows NT and corrects a very rare problem with later scenarios. 
  59.  
  60. Links 386 CD-ROM Executable Upgrade (L386CD.EXE) -- Fix the bug that 
  61. occurs with some recorded players playing on courses other than the one
  62. that the players were recorded on.
  63.  
  64. Links: The Challenge of Golf (GOLF.EXE) -- Fixes lockups with Sound
  65. Blaster 16 cards.
  66.  
  67. Live Action Football (LAF.EXE) -- This patch, which will overwrite the 
  68. existing laf.exe file, is designed to eliminate general protection 
  69. fault errors.
  70.  
  71. Master of Magic v.1.31 (MOM131.ZIP) -- Is another extensive overhaaul
  72. and bug fixer.
  73.  
  74. Mortal Kombat Ggorgo Gradiant with MKFIX (GGORO.ZIP) -- This is for 
  75. anyone who is having problems retrieving GGORO.GRA upon having downloaded
  76. the MKFIX patch.

  78. Pacific Air War Gold CD Volume Label Update (PAWGCD.ZIP) -- Contains a new
  79. version of the file 1942CD.COM, which will correct problems on copies of 
  80. the game with a volume label of PAW_1942 instead of 1942_PAW, where the
  81. game will not run from a minimum installation.

  83. Simcity 2000 for Windows to v.1.2 (SC2W12.ZIP) 
  84.  
  85. Warcraft v.1.21 (WARCR121.EXE) -- Offers improved sound card support, 
  86. increased 2-player game speed and many more fixes.

  88. Wings of Glory Wishlist Executable (GLORY.EXE) -- Adds some user-requested
  89. options, which can be activated or not activated by special hot  keys: 
  90. ALT-S makes spins more prevalent; ALT-R, the fast rotation response
  91. function, makes the WWI planes rotate like a jet; ALT-P adds blackouts
  92. (not a common problem in WWI era problems, but here anyway); F8 is a 
  93. Lewis Gun View; and ALT-U boosts fuel to unlimited. Line blocking in far
  94. terrain is also much better with this patch.

  97. As with all these patches, make sure you have your original files backed up 
  98. in case you need to reinstall. PC Gamer will not accept any responsibility
