*******************************************************
1.0 Introduction
3Deep ensures that your monitor displays 3D games with
accurate lighting and shading exactly the way the creator
intended. 3Deep delivers the precise imagery that the
developer spent months working to achieve.
*******************************************************
Note: To deliver 3D imagery 'as the creator intended' the
game needs to support accurate gamma using specific
Microsoft(r) DirectX or 3Dfx Glide(r) functions. For those
'legacy' games that don't include this function 3Deep's
Default System Gamma (located in the 3Deep control panel)
will adjust your system to a gamma level that is optimal
for most games.
*******************************************************
2.0 FOR BEST RESULTS, YOU MUST READ THIS
Let your monitor warm up for at least 30 minutes before
beginning the 3Deep Color Wizard. This process allows the
colors to stabilize.
Run 3Deep at least twice a year for best results.
If you have a third-party monitor calibration system
installed (e.g., EFIcolor, AGFA FotoTune, or another),
use either that system or 3Deep. Do not use both calibration
systems. Using both systems will miscalibrate the monitor.
Search 3Deep Help for instructions for your application.
If your monitor has some type of color adjustment controls,
adjust them to your liking first, before running 3Deep.
If your monitor has a degauss button press it before running
the 3Deep Color Wizard. If you don't have one, then your
monitor has an automatic degauss cycle that works when you
turn your monitor off and then on again, even if there is no
outward indication of it.
Some work environments have more than one type of light. A
single type of light is required to get accurate results,
especially during the last two steps of the 3Deep Color Wizard,
in which you adhere the Color Card or Color Key to the screen.
At these steps, adjust your room lighting as described in the
linked Help topic to get the best results. After completing all
of 3Deep's color choices, you can return to normal room lighting.
* PLEASE NOTE THAT 3DEEP V3 DOES NOT OPERATE PROPERLY IN
256 COLOR MODE ON WINDOWS NT4 OR 2000 SYSTEMS. PLEASE
USE A HIGHER COLOR DEPTH (16BIT OR HIGHER).
******************************************************
3.0 Disabling the 3Deep logo at system start up.
Open the 3Deep Control Panel.
Open the About Screen (Click on the 3Deep logo in the Control Panel)
Click on the 'Disable logo during start up' button.
******************************************************
4.0 Uninstalling 3Deep
If you ever need to uninstall 3Deep, click the
Windows' Start button and choose Settings/Control Panel.
When the Control Panel window opens, double-click on
Add/Remove Programs. Highlight 3Deep in the list of programs,
then click the Add/Remove button.
If for some reason you can't run Windows 95/98, uninstall
3Deep by deleting the directory "C:\Program Files\E-Color".
(This will not update the Windows registry
and is not the recommended way to uninstall, but it could be
useful in the event of a software conflict.)
