For over one hundred years, this system worked very well and the planet enjoyed a period of wealth and stability. However, this was soon disturbed by the appearance from the far side of the planet of the Raldein. These creatures had evolued to be perfectly adapted to the job of digging and were immediately employed by the ZMTA. Unfortunately, their great success also turned out to be a weakness. Within a few decades, all low to medium deep mines had been dug out. The cost of further digging was increasing as the mines went euer deeper. The ZMTA looked jealously at the Floating Lands of Zarg, houering just out of reach.
