  4. Here are four new Doom WADS for this month. As always, just copy these
  5. files into your Doom directory. 
  6.  
  7. All of these files can be found off of the \DOOM directory on our CD.
  8.  
  9. 7_10SPLT.WAD - Take a demon bowling at the Dumerica Bowling Arena!
  10.              Not your usual setting for Doom.
  11.  
  12. MK3.WAD^T12 - The Lost Mines: The CyberDemon and his minions have taken  
  13.              the mines. They've been doing a little redecorating  
  14.              but that shouldn't deter you from ending the madness.
  15.  
  16. FIRESTM2.WAD - Fire Storm: Prepare to enter the Fire Storm. This WAd
  17.              was designed with deathmatch in mind, but that's not 
  18.              the only way it can be played.
  19.  
  20. MKHALLS.WAD - The Halls of Death: One simple strategy for this 
  21.              WAD -- survive!

  23. A few folks have written and asked "once we copy them into
  24. our Doom directory, how do you load 'em?". Well, this can 
  25. be pretty arbitrary depending what each WAD's author created. 
  26. There's always a TXT file for you to read, and some even 
  27. include a batch file for loading the WAD. If you're left 
  28. clueless, the standard procedure is to type:  doomx -file wadname.wad
  29.  
  30. where doomx = your Doom executable command, either DOOM or DOOM2
  31. where -file = would appear just as it is
  32. where wadname.wad = is the name of the WAD file you wish to load
  33.  
  34. i.e. If the game is Doom 2 and the WAD name is CLIFFS.WAD, you'd
  35. type:  DOOM2 -FILE CLIFFS.WAD.
  36.  
  37. This doesn't always work, they're just general guidelines. As
  38. with all WADS, updates, add-ons or patches make sure your original 
  39. files are backed up. PC Gamer will not accept any responsibility 
  40. for problems caused by these files.
