  9. You should carefully read the following terms and conditions
  10. before using this software.  Unless you have a different license
  11. agreement signed by Nico Mak Computing, Inc. your use of this
  12. software indicates your acceptance of this license agreement and
  13. warranty.

  15. Registered Version
  16.  
  17. One registered copy of WinZip may either be used by a single
  18. person who uses the software personally on one or more computers,
  19. or installed on a single workstation used nonsimultaneously by
  20. multiple people, but not both.
  21.  
  22. You may access the registered version of WinZip through a network,
  23. provided that you have obtained individual licenses for the
  24. software covering all workstations that will access the software
  25. through the network.  For instance, if 8 different workstations
  26. will access WinZip on the network, each workstation must have its
  27. own WinZip license, regardless of whether they use WinZip at
  28. different times or concurrently.

  30. WinZip Self-Extractor Personal Edition, included with WinZip, may
  31. be used at workstations licensed to use the registered version of
  32. WinZip to create an unlimited number of freely distributable
  33. royalty-free self-extracting ZIP files.  Self-extracting ZIP files
  34. created by WinZip Self-Extractor Personal Edition contain, among
  35. other things, a portion of WinZip Self-Extractor, including
  36. copyrighted software, proprietary notices, and identifying
  37. information (the "Extraction Software").  No registered user may
  38. alter or modify the Extraction Software.  You cannot give anyone
  39. else permission to modify the Extraction Software.

  43. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of
  44. Connecticut.

  46. Disclaimer of Warranty

  48. THIS SOFTWARE AND THE ACCOMPANYING FILES ARE SOLD "AS IS" AND
  49. WITHOUT WARRANTIES AS TO PERFORMANCE OR MERCHANTABILITY OR ANY
  50. OTHER WARRANTIES WHETHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.  In particular,
  51. there is no warranty for the optional virus scanning feature
  52. (WinZip does not scan for viruses, it simply runs external
  53. programs that claim to perform this function).  Because of the
  54. various hardware and software environments into which WinZip may
  55. be put, NO WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE IS
  56. OFFERED.

  58. Good data processing procedure dictates that any program be
  59. thoroughly tested with non-critical data before relying on it.
  60. The user must assume the entire risk of using the program.  ANY
  61. LIABILITY OF THE SELLER WILL BE LIMITED EXCLUSIVELY TO PRODUCT
  62. REPLACEMENT OR REFUND OF PURCHASE PRICE.

  68. This is not free software.  Subject to the terms below, you are
  69. hereby licensed to use this software for evaluation purposes
  70. without charge for a period of 21 days.  If you use this software
  71. after the 21 day evaluation period a registration fee of $29 is
  72. required.  Payments must be in US dollars drawn on a US bank, and
  73. should be sent to Nico Mak Computing, Inc., P.O.  Box 540,
  74. Mansfield, CT 06268.  Credit card ordering and quantity
  75. discounts are available, as described in the section Ordering
  76. Information/Order Form.  When payment is received you will be sent
  77. a registered copy of the latest version of WinZip.

  79. Self-extracting ZIP files created by WinZip Self-Extractor
  80. Personal Edition (distributed as part of the WinZip evaluation
  81. package) contain, among other things, a portion of WinZip Self-
  82. Extractor, including copyrighted software, proprietary notices,
  83. and identifying information (the "Extraction Software").  You may
  84. not alter or modify the Extraction Software and cannot give anyone
  85. else permission to modify the Extraction Software.  UNDER NO
  86. CIRCUMSTANCES ARE YOU LICENSED TO DISTRIBUTE SELF-EXTRACTING ZIP
  87. FILES CREATED BY THE EVALUATION VERSION OF WINZIP SELF-EXTRACTOR
  88. PERSONAL EDITION.

  90. Unregistered use of WinZip or WinZip Self-Extractor Personal
  91. Edition after the 21-day evaluation period is in violation of U.S.
  92. and international copyright laws.

  96. Provided that you verify that you are distributing the evaluation
  97. version (select About from the WinZip Help menu to check) you are
  98. hereby licensed to make as many copies of the evaluation version of
  99. this software and documentation as you wish; give exact copies of
  100. the original evaluation version to anyone; and distribute the
  101. evaluation version of the software and documentation in its
  102. unmodified form via electronic means.  There is no charge for any
  103. of the above.

  106. donations, for any such copies, however made; and from
  107. distributing the software and/or documentation with other products
