StarCraft: The Zerg Have Awoke
Version 1.00
By: Barry Rowe
Email: barry_j_rowe@hotmail.com
Released: Dec 11 1998
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
StarCraft: The Zerg Have Awoke, is a sequel I made to StarCraft because I
had nothing else to do. It has 30 campaign missions (10 for each race) and
has changing difficultly from one mission to the next (the Protoss missions
seem to be the hardest). I started this back in the late July 1998 and
because of many difficulties (like having some of my maps screw up and
having to do them all over again) it has been a little late in it's arrival.
Now if I was PAID to do this it would of came out a lot earlier but, I
wasn't. It is IMPORTANT that you read the STORY.TXT file before you start
playing or else when you play the levels, you will be totally confused about
what the hell is happening. If you see any extra levels (like
mission 05 or.scm) read the Bugs section and see why they are there. You
will need StarCraft v1.02 to play this campaign (you don't really "need" the
patch, but in order to play some levels correctly you'll need the patch).
----Installation----
To play, just unzip all the files into a StarCraft maps directory
Ex: "C:\Starcraft\maps\zergawoke\", Read The STORY.TXT file, Open the file
Mission 01.scm and play away (be sure to save your progress).
----Bugs----
I have found some bugs with some levels that I have made that I couldn't
fix. They are as follows:
mission 05 or- This mission was one of the ones I spent a week doing and
then it screwed up on me. It doesn't work but I included it
anyway because I spent so much time on it. If you want, try
if out, if it doesn't work, then you can just look at it with
the level editor.
mission 15 or- This mission is not screwed up but I found that it was WAY to
difficult at the red base, so I made it a little easier and
put in the older mission anyway.
mission 20+- I get random "exiting" errors happening that give me no
reason why. This is most likely due to the fact that
my computer sucks :( . If you have these problems too, all
I can say is to save your game a lot and load it whenever it
exits.
mission briefings- The dialog in some missions might not fit the race. I
think that in some briefings there might be minor
spelling errors or grammar errors. Sorry or the
inconvenience.
If you find any bugs in the campaign, then please send me an email telling
me what happened at what level.
---- Other Stuff ----
If you have anything to say about my levels (ex: too hard, too easy,
they suck, the ending sucks, you suck, the name of the campaign sucks, etc.)
then please email me your comments. Please include your email address so I
can email back.
StarCraft: The Zerg Have Awoke is free, don't pay for it, give it away
freely, I don't mind. Just don't make a profit on it without asking me
first :)
I would like to thank Blizzard for making such good games like Warcraft,
Warcraft 2, Diablo, and Starcraft. I would also like to thank ID software
for making Doom which got me started in editing games :)
If you can't finish a level because it is too hard (like in some of the
Protoss levels) then I don't mind if you cheat by adding 24 Mojos in the
level, I fact, I have to cheat in a lot of them! Just make sure that you
don't give someone a copy with the cheated levels on it.
If I ever get the time, I would like to create a sequel to this campaign and
use the Starcraft: Brood War campaign editor. If you finish the campaign,
please email me and tell me if you would want me to make a sequel and what
you would like to be in it if I decide to make one.
Now that you finished reading this file, go read STORY.TXT and play the
campaign.
