  4. TO USE THIS DRIVER:
  5. -------------------
  6. Install the patch by copying PATCH.EXE into your Quake directory and
  7. executing it.  You can un-install the patch by executing PATCH again in your
  8. quake directory. Once you have successfully installed the patch, run the new
  9. VFX1QKE.EXE from within your Quake directory to play Quake with the
  10. VFX1 HEADGEAR.

  12. To play Quake using the VFX1 HEADGEAR and the Windows Sockets network
  13. interface, run VFX1Q95.BAT.

  16. IMPORTANT NOTE:
  17. ---------------
  18. If you run Quake with the new patch installed WITHOUT running VFX1QKE and if
  19. you have a mouse installed, the game will not work correctly.

  21. Un-install the patch before playing Quake without the VFX1 HEADGEAR.

  24. CONFIGURING THIS DRIVER:
  25. ------------------------
  26. As with past drivers, there are several sensitivity adjustments that can be
  27. made by editing the VFX1QKE.INI file.  Edit the VFX1QKE.INI file with a
  28. normal text editor like DOS EDIT or the Windows Notepad.  
  29.  
  30. Unlike past drivers, in this version of VFX1QKE, the button fuctions of the
  31. puck are now configured from within Quake instead of in the INI file. You
  32. can easily change the configuration of the puck buttons from within Quake by
  33. using the 'Control Configuration' menu screen.  For configuration purposes,
  34. Quake treats the puck as a three button mouse.
