Already one full day behind the Soviet timetable, the fictitious Colonel Rokosov was in no mood for further delays. His 112 Guards Motorized Rifle Regiment, reinforced with strong tank support was ordered to "Flatten Fulda" and get back on schedule. His two biggest concerns were the tenacious West German defenders hidden within the city, and the air above him where NATO air power controlled the sky.
