VIRTUAL POOL 2 (tm) Patch
(c) 1997 Celeris, Inc. All rights reserved.
Virtual Pool 2 is a trademark of Interplay Productions.
All rights reserved.
========================================================================
This patch will provide you with the latest update for Virtual
Pool 2 (tm) It contains minor adjustments for items such as pool
rules, art work, and other assorted problems that may have
occurred. To utilize this new patch, follow these simple
instructions.
1) Along with this readme file, you should have two files
called Vp2.exe & rendd3d.dll
2) Go to the Program Files/VR Sports/VP2 directory on your hard
drive (usually C:)
3) Replace the old Vp2.exe & rendd3d.dll files with the new ones
received in this patch.
4) That's it....You're done! Start Virtual Pool 2 as usual and
begin playing.
You really won't even notice what the program has done, except
for one noticeable change. If you play 8-Ball (UK Pub Rules) the
balls will now be yellow and red instead of stripes and solids.
Have fun!

Video Card Troubleshooting
=================================
If you are having problems with your 3D accelerator/video card make
sure that you have the latest drivers for your card. We have found
that installing the latest video drivers solves most of the
problems that people are reporting. In order to get the latest
video drivers for your video card contact the manufacturer. Most
manufacturers have web sites with the latest drivers available
for downloading.
3D acceleration is only worthwhile if you have a video card that is
in the same class as today's newer 3D accelerators such as the 3Dfx
Voodoo or the nVidea RIVA128. If your 3D accelerator is not in
this class you will probably get better performance by not using 3D
acceleration in Virtual Pool 2.

Bugs Fixed/Problems Addressed
=================================
In 3-ball, if the 3-ball is hit off table it is now spotted, it
used to be considered pocketed.
In Bank Pool, balls hit off table were not being spotted, are now.
Missing the rack on a 9-ball break said rail not hit or ball not
hit, now says 4 balls not hit to rail.
Computer opponent sometimes made very bad decisions with ball in
hand.
In Rotation the computer opponent always passed when given the
option after a bad break.
In Shark Skins, a game was considered over any time the winning
ball was made, even on scratches and cue ball hit off table.
Hitting the 'z' key just as the computer opponent was shooting
sometimes caused funny things to happen.
If you started a game, then started the demo, then hit replay, the
balls were being reracked for 9-ball with rules for whatever game
you had originally set up.
In a Straight Pool tournament, computer player verses computer
player, the higher rated player was always winning.
If the tournament winner had a long name then sometimes the score
of the final match was being cut off.
The computer opponents in general are now slightly easier to beat.
When playing Eight ball - English Pub rules, the balls are now
snooker colored (red and yellow).
Replay is now disabled after loading a saved game during remote
play.
A problem with restoring the original game after watching a video
clip has been fixed.
The load saved game feature was not working with remote play at
all.
On some 3D accelerators some polygons were being drawn over and
were showing up as holes in the table bed, etc.
3D accelerators that require textures to be square are now
correctly identified as being incompatible with Virtual Pool 2
(such as video boards based on the S3 Virge chipset).
A problem with Miscall during remote play has been fixed.
When playing a remote game, English Pub rules, if one player fouled
by not hitting any balls at all, the opponent gets a choice to play
from D or in place. After the choice is made if the user then did
a replay both players would get the choice dialog. This has been
fixed.
