  17. To setup "Getting the Most Out of EarthLink" guide
  18.  
  19.     1. Double click on Adobe Acrobat Setup icon in the
  20.        TotalAccess program group. This will install
  21.        Acrobat Reader on your local computer. 
  22.     2. Double click on the Internet Guide icon in the
  23.        TotalAccess program group.

  26. PLEASE NOTE: 
  27. Expanding available disk space on your local computer 
  28.  
  29. If you wish to gain some additional disk space, you may delete all the 
  30. *.z files from the "access" folder in your EarthLink installation 
  31. folder on your local machine. Keep in mind, however, that you will 
  32. not be able to use your local registration & utilities programs in the future 
  33. to open a new account, update or retrieve an existing account. In order 
  34. to do that you will need to run setup.exe program from the original 
  35. EarthLink floppy disks or CD-ROM.

  39. The Software on your CD-ROM may include one or more of the following programs:

  41. Surfwatch
  42. QuickTime
  43. Air Warrior
  44. Casino Poker
  45. RealAudio Player

  50. With Windows running, close all open applications. If you
  51. are connected over a phone line, connect to the Internet
  52. using your dialer application. 
  53. If you have a connection through a local network, then 
  54. you may be connected automatically.

  56. To begin the installation process: 
  57.  
  58. 1.    Select the Win95 folder and double-click to
  59.         open it.
  60. 2.    Select the 3rdparty folder and double-click to
  61.         open it.
  62. 3.      Select the Sfwatch folder and double-click to
  63.         open it.
  64. 4.      Select the sww95-el.exe file and double-click to
  65.         run the unzip program.
  66. 5.    From the dialog box that appears, select the
  67.         folder to unpack the program files into 
  68.         (by default C:\WINDOWS\TEMP) and unpack program 
  69.     files into it. 
  70. After the SurfWatch files are unpacked. 
  71. Go to the unpacking folder:
  72. 1.    Locate the SurfWatch SETUP.EXE file and 
  73.         double-click to run the Setup program.
  74. 2.    You will see a screen titled SurfWatch Setup.
  75.         Remember that you must be connected to the 
  76.         Internet before you proceed.
  77. 3.    Read this screen and click Continue to proceed.
  78.         Then follow the instructions on the screen.
  79. After Installation:
  80. 1.      If you want to remove SurfWatch, run the SETUP.EXE
  81.     program from the unpacking folder created 
  82.     earlier.
  83. 2.      Removing, copying, or moving any SurfWatch files
  84.         without using the SETUP.EXE program may destroy 
  85.         your operating system installation and render 
  86.         your computer useless.

  89.            Installing QuickTime 2.1.2 for Windows 95

  91. To begin the installation process: 
  92.  
  93. 1.    Select the Win95 folder and double-click to 
  94.         open it.
  95. 2.      Select the 3rdparty folder and double-click to
  96.         open it.
  97. 3.      Select the Quicktime folder and double-click 
  98.     to open it.
  99. 4.      Read the Readme32.txt file for the installation
  100.      instructions.
  101. 5.      For Netscape Navigator:
  102.     Copy the NPQTW32.DLL file to your Netscape 
  103.     plugins    folder, i.e. 
  104.     c:\earthlnk\netscape\plugins.
  105. 6.      Copy the QTVRW32.QTC file to your Windows folder.
  106. 7.      Select the QTINSTAL.EXE file and double-click on
  107.     it to install QuickTime.
  108. NOTE:   If you have older versions of QuickTime, 
  109.     the installer will ask you to delete them,
  110.     please, respond 'yes" to any such queries.
  111. 8.      Follow the instructions on the screen to
  112.     complete the installation.

  117. VERY IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THE "LAUNCHING" SECTION BELOW.

  120. To begin the installation process: 
  121. 1.    Select the Win95 folder and double-click to
  122.     open it.
  123. 2.      Select the 3rdparty folder and double-click 
  124.     to open it.
  125. 3.      Select the Poker (or Airwar) folder and 
  126.     double-click to open it.
  127. 4.    Locate the Setup.exe file and double-click to
  128.         run the Setup program.
  129. 5.    Follow the instructions on the screen to complete
  130.     the installation.
  131. 6.      Read readme.txt file for the game instructions.

  133. -Launching-

  135.    You need to configure your browser in order to launch 
  136.    from on-line connections to point towards a launcher 
  137.    for game. This shouldn't be requiredif you have 
  138.    installed another Kesmai product for launching.
  139.    These instructions show how:

  141. Launcher Configuration (you need this to launch from WWW):

  143. With Windows running, close all open applications. If you

  147. See the instructions below for Netscape Navigator 3.0.   
  148.   1.    Run Netscape Navigator (TM) from the TotalAccess 
  149.         program group.
  150.   2.    Select General Preferences from the Options menu.
  151.   3.    Select the tab labeled "Helpers".
  152.   4.    Select the button on the Helper screen labeled 
  153.         "Create New Type."
  154.   5.    Enter "application" for the Mime type.
  155.   6.    Enter "x-klnch32" for the Mime subtype.
  156.   7.    Click OK for the Configure New Mime Type dialog.
  157.   8.    Enter "LCH" for the file extensions.
  158.   9.    Select the radio button beside the action 
  159.         "launch the Application".
  160.   10.   Select the Browse button on the lower right 
  161.         corner of the helpers screen.
  162.   11.   Browse to the folder where you installed the 
  163.         game (by default C:\Kesmai\Poker or
  164.         C:\Kesmai\Airwar) and select "klnch32.exe".
  165.   12.   Select the OK button on the Browse dialog.
  166.   13.   Select OK at the bottom of the General 
  167.         Preferences screen.
  168.   14.   Select Save Options from the Options menu in
  169.         Netscape.
  170.  
  171.   That's it.  You are now ready to launch the game from
  172.   the Web. Go to the EarthLink Home page, click on 
  173.   The Arena button and follow the instructions on the 
  174.   screen to start the on-line game.

  179. 1.    Select the Win95 folder and double-click
  180.         to open it.
  181. 2.      Select the 3rdparty directory and double-click
  182.     to open it.
  183. 3.      Select the Realaudi folder and double-click 
  184.     to open it.
  185. 4.      Select the ra32_30.exe file and double-click
  186.     to run the installation program.
  187. 5.    You will see a RealAudio Setup wizard screen.
  188.     Then follow the instructions on the screen to
  189.     complete the installation.
