  99. DirectX - We optimized our game to work with DirectX 2.0,
  100. which is Microsoft's current released version at this 
  101. time of development. As Microsoft releases newer 
  102. versions of DirectX in the future, we recommend that you 
  103. update to the most current version. This patch will not 
  104. install DirectX  for you.  To do this you should refer to 
  105. our Customer Service web page (www.activision.com) which 
  106. will have the most recent version of DirectX for you to 
  107. download. Once you have the most recent version of DirectX 
  108. correctly installed, the patch allows MechWarrior 2 to work 
  109. better with Windows 95.
  110. Joystick Throttle Problems - Some players using various 
  111. joysticks  with throttle control were unable to go to full 
  112. speed or reduce  their speed to a complete stop.  The patch 
  113. resolves this problem. 
  114. Rudder pedal fixes - Players using various rudder pedal 
  115. input devices while configured with "Torso Twist" were 
  116. unable to move their 'Mech through its normal range of motion. 
  117. The patch resolves this problem.
  118. Microsoft SideWinder 3D Pro - Along with the throttle fix, 
  119. the Microsoft SideWinder 3D Pro suffered from occasional 
  120. erratic control problems. The patch addresses this problem.
  121. Sound Card conflict - When entering Cadet Training players 
  122. received the fatal error "WAIL32.DLL" with the IBM MWave. 
  123. The patch addresses this problem. 
  124. Sinking Mech - Occasionally when entering a Trial of Position 
  125. in either the Jade or Wolf missions, the 'Mech would begin the 
  126. mission under the ground and be unable to play the mission.
  127. NetMech, Team Leader Killed - In the Free For All Trial 
  128. Mission, the team member designated as team leader had 
  129. to be alive in order the team to achieve "mission 
  130. successful". Players had no way to tell who was team leader. 
  131. Now, any team member can win the mission for the team.
  132. "M" torso twist - While "Torso Twisting" your 'mech, 
  133. the "M" key   should now center the legs to the facing 
  134. direction of  the torso without the previous jerky 
  135. disorienting movement. 
  136. Star formation in trials - Adjusting your star formations
  137. in the trial now works.
